The system that impact incubators have been operating within has shaped their experiences and informed how they operate. Still, the system itself is broken, and it remains invisible to its many stakeholders. 🔎 We are working to make every aspect of the system visible so that it can transform. To do this, we are asking all the hard questions that no one else is asking. 📲 Don't hesitate to DM us if you're interested in helping answer these questions. Your participation will help us move to reform and then onward to the transformation of the impact ecosystem. ⁉️Did you know - according to Marina Saitgalina, Ph.D. & Jesus N. Valero in their "Nature of Non-Profit Incubators Differ From Other Sector Incubators" study found that nonprofit incubators rely on an average of 2.7 revenue sources, compared to 1.9 different revenue resources for other sector type incubators. 📣 Tag an impact incubator. Tag a researcher of the impact space. Share widely. Let’s change the dynamic of impact incubation so the whole ecosystem thrives. 🚀 𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐛𝐨𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐰𝐢𝐝𝐞... A year ago, OneHive was just a skeleton team, a whiteboard, and a dream inside an industrial estate in Brent Council. It was the perfect spot to develop the fastest growing tech platform for social enterprises. Our story doesn't come with the glitz and the glamour you may see, but scrappy beginnings as TutorHive before we pivoted to OneHive, which is now the go-to operating system for non-profits, powering 25,000+ young people and beneficiaries across the UK. 🐝 We’ve achieved so much, and as I reflect, it's incredible to see how we have ✅ Doubled our team... bringing #Impact and #Partnership to the core ✅ Built over 30 core #features that help organisations #deliver, #measure, and #scale their programmes ✅ Developed our own impact framework called the #BEEScore as the basis to change ✅ Proven that #TechForGood isn’t just a tagline but it’s a blueprint for the future. ✅ Launched our own #NonForProfit to break the barriers to implementing tech solutions 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒐𝒏 𝒂 𝒘𝒉𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒃𝒐𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝒂 𝒘𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒉𝒐𝒖𝒔𝒆 𝒊𝒔 𝒏𝒐𝒘 𝒂 𝒔𝒚𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒎 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕’𝒔 𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒃𝒖𝒊𝒍𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓𝒔. There’s still a long way to go, but watching this timelapse reminded me that every big movement starts with small, consistent steps. And to everyone in my network #building, #iterating, and #grafting ... stay true to your purpose especially when no one’s watching. 💛 Especially because one year can #BeeTheChange to everything… 🐝 #BuildTheFuture #UnleashPotential #OneHiveAtATime #Innovation #SocialImpact #Entrepreneurship #ThrowbackThursday

Would you agree that scale is a question of execution, not vision? Social entrepreneurship, the problems we need to solve, and the challenges of scaling are similar for both for-profit and nonprofit organisations. This is clear in the example of many microfinance institutions, which grew from nonprofit activities to full banking within a decade. However, nonprofits face some unique challenges when it comes to scaling. Focusing on scaling in the nonprofit sector affects both how wide and how deep the impact can be, along with creating real and perceived obstacles. While capital and talent are important, this article by Sandeep Farias shares practical lessons from his experience of helping organisations think through scale. Every year, nearly $400 billion is poured into startups — yet 90% fail. We keep funding ideas, not people. We test before we trust. We evaluate before we enable. Now, imagine a different way. For just $25, we activate a team of young changemakers for four weeks. We provide a trust-based grant: if their venture doesn't profit, they owe nothing. If it succeeds, they keep 50% and donate 50% to fuel the next generation—transforming recipients into donors. This model doesn't just promise; it delivers. From a recent cohort of 25,000 youth, 80% were living in poverty. They didn't just get a grant; they became creators. The results? 92% created measurable impact—launching local tutoring services, producing upcycled goods, or solving community problems. On average, teams more than doubled the initial investment, proving the economic power of trust. This is what happens when you flip the script. Opportunity comes first. Proof follows. Now, let's scale this truth. Redirecting just 1% of global startup funding ($4 billion) wouldn't just fund ideas—it would activate 160 million youth teams. That's over 160 million young people empowered to solve real problems in their communities. Trust isn't the gold medal at the finish line. It's the starting block. Let's build a world that starts with trust, not tests. #TrustFirst #Changemaking #YouthPower #SocialImpact #YESNetwork #OpportunityForAll

ELITE CAPTURE? When we talk about elite capture, many assume it’s a problem confined to the development or non-profit sector. But the truth is, this challenge also exists in social enterprises and mission-driven businesses; spaces that are supposed to prioritize equity, empowerment, and shared value. Elite capture happens when the benefits, resources, or opportunities intended for marginalized communities end up being disproportionately taken by those with more power, influence, or access. This not only distorts the original mission but can also reinforce the very inequities that social enterprises aim to dismantle. If left unchecked, it risks turning social entrepreneurship into just another tool that serves the privileged, rather than a genuine force for inclusive change.

Entrepreneurs Without Borders fundraising $1000 for legal fees in order to setup a non-profit in the US, tapping into the world's largest largest hub for philanthropy, innovation, and social investment. https://lnkd.in/dYjbfw5E
Help Us Launch Entrepreneurs Without Borders in the U.S, help us reach $1000 to fund our legal set up as an official non-profit. At Entrepreneurs Without Borders (EWB) we believe entrepreneurship is the fastest way to create lasting change. Now we are ready to take the next big step: Establishing EWB as a non-profit in the US. Why the U.S. — Why Now? The U.S. is at a crossroads. While political polarization dominates the headlines, it’s also the world’s largest hub for philanthropy, innovation, and social investment. We believe this is exactly the moment to show that entrepreneurship can unite rather than divide — by focusing on solutions, not sides. By setting up a U.S. nonprofit, we can tap into the world’s most active ecosystem of donors and foundations, build bridges between U.S. communities and global entrepreneurs and channel U.S. resources into ventures that drive the Sustainable Development Goals. Your support shows that even in a divided political climate, we can come together around something bigger: creating jobs, solving problems, and building a better world. Follow the link to Target Aid and donate today, every penny counts towards a successful setup! https://lnkd.in/dFYb35UG

💥Finally, the cat’s out the bag - or should I say, the roll’s out of the wrapper! 🧻 Couldn’t be more excited to share a project we’ve been quietly working on - partnering with the legends at Who Gives A Crap to bring their story into classrooms across Australia. When you think of the poster child for social enterprise, Who Gives A Crap always comes to mind. They donate 50% of their profits to ensure everyone in the world has access to clean water and a toilet, raising over $18 million for this mission so far! I'm so chuffed they had the foresight to bring their ingenuity into schools - and rather than reinvent the wheel, chose to collaborate with Young Change Agents, who’ve been teaching young people social entrepreneurship for 10 years, reaching over 195,000 youth nationwide. Together, we’ve co-created the Impact Boss program - weaving WGAC’s full startup story, from prototype to global impact, into our entrepreneurial learning pathway, combining our Explorer and YINC (Youth Incubator) programs. 🎥 The video modules feature WGAC co-founder Jehan Ratnatunga, giving students the chance to learn the tales directly from a brand they already know (and love saying the name of!) A massive thank you to the incredible WGAC crew - Jehan, Ann-Marie and Annika Messing- it’s been such a joy to work (and pun-create!) with you so far. Can’t wait to play more! And to our co-founder Margaret O'Brien, for sparking this idea and her never-ending gumption to make it happen. This dynamo combo is going turbo and I can’t wait to see the ripple effect as we inspire even more young Roll Models across Australia. 🚽 So relieved the lid’s up - and we can finally share the news! Good to have a laugh AND positive change, aye? #ImpactBoss2026 #TheNextGenerationOfRollModels #WhoGivesACrap

📸 Startup events are great for selfies. But let’s be real → they rarely get you funded. Here’s the reality most founders don’t admit 👇 ❌ You spend ₹50,000+ to attend. ❌ You pitch in front of 200 people. ❌ You post photos with investors on LinkedIn. But after the event? 👉 Zero follow-ups. 👉 No guaranteed meetings. 👉 No real progress on your fundraising. Events make you feel busy. But busy ≠ funded. What early-stage founders actually need isn’t more exposure. It’s access. Direct, personalized access to the right investors who are active in their space. 🚀 Hands-On Learning in Action: StartUp Class Week 2 🚀 At ANE, our StartUp Class is all about learning by doing—and Week 2 was no exception! Earlier this week, students dug into two essential pieces of nonprofit success: 🔎 Environmental Scans – understanding the landscape, spotting opportunities, and preparing for challenges. 🎨 Mission, Vision & Logos – exploring how these elements work together to create strong, recognizable nonprofit brands. As seen in this snapshot, through interactive exercises and real-world examples, participants matched missions, visions, and logos to see firsthand how nonprofits communicate their purpose and impact. Our next StartUp Cohort launches in Newport News next month: https://lnkd.in/efC9CWBW #ThrowbackThursday #WorkforceDevelopment #NonprofitLeadership #ANE #StartUpClass

You will fail if you don't think like an entrepreneur. That was my takeaway from Chris Beaman's hosted dinner as I listened to one of the most impressive non-profit leaders I've met in a while in Suzanne Stone. She may be the CEO of Livestrong, but she's a tech entrepreneur hiding in plain sight, and what she shared in the room is an operating model every founder, c-suite exec, middle manager and college graduate should embody. If you don't have a view on where the world is going to be in 5 years, you'll look back and wonder how you missed it all. Risk of not learning and building in AI is so much greater than staying the course. This is not hype. Someone out there is building something that's trying to steal your lunch. Take your job. Replace you. The world is moving fast, and you cannot defend what you cannot see. To win the game of business, and of life, build the world you want to live in. Be a part of the future. That doesn't mean forget what makes us human, just remember what humans are capable of. We are innovators, and the greatest innovation is happening right now. I talk to 30+ founders a week, and I can tell that you adopting a culture of AI curiosity and encouraging people to share their learnings on a regular basis will do more for your business than putting together KPI charts and thinking about next quarters targets. Thank you Suzanne for showing us that the major non-profits who spend 90% of their donations on gala's and operating expenses can actually flip the model and spend 90% on helping the people they set their mission towards.
