The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey’s Post

Nearly 100 years ago, the steel mills of Roebling, NJ, built the steel parts that became the George Washington Bridge. Now, one of its original cables has come home. The Port Authority has donated the cable to the Roebling Museum as part of Restoring the George — a $2 billion program to rehabilitate the 93-year-old bridge and honor both its past and its future.

Thanks again to The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey. We were thrilled to accept this piece of America bridge history. We look forward to folks coming to check out our museum commemorating the family, company and workers that made the family legacy possible in Roebling, NJ (Accessible by NJTransit and 5 min off NJTurnpike)!

Congratulations to the ODEI MWBE team that has provided a storied history of opportunity to our MWBEs at the GWB! 👏
