The Power of Human Connection: A Pre-Diwali Surprise Life has a Intresting way of reminding us that beyond targets, territories, and titles, human connection is the real power move. Few days back it was one of those reminders. Two stalwarts ( now as we are friends I can use any adjective 🙂) from biggest partners from Sri Lanka—Roy and Gajan from South Asian Technologies (Pvt) Ltd. —visiting India for IBM Think on 15th October 2025—decided to drop by my home you can say semi surprise Visit . The surprise was already special, but the real magic happened when my daughter recognized them instantly… and they recognized her too! She probably remembered every story I’ve shared after my Sri Lanka visits: how beautiful the country is, and, more importantly, its people—whom I proudly call my friends now. Sri Lanka has been at the top of her “must-visit” list for years, complete with a strategic itinerary she has been planning in her mind: take pictures at Galle Face and stay at Taj Samudra. Apparently, my travel tales double as both inspiration and her personal travel planning department! For a long time, I thought of Sri Lanka as “just business territory.” But in my earlier role, I had the privilege of working closely with SAT to craft and deliver IBM’s value proposition there. This gesture—simple, thoughtful, human—felt like a pre-Diwali gift, wrapped in warmth and nostalgia. I must also thank Sunil Yalagoor who encouraged me to visit Sri Lanka for the first time two -Three years ago. Today, that visit has blossomed into great business opportunities and even better friendships—a perfect reminder of how one small nudge can create a ripple effect. Roy Jebarson Jebaratnam and Gajanan Balenthiran, I’m truly grateful for this thoughtful gesture. Wishing you a Diwali full of light, laughter, and moments as sweet and memorable as Sri Lankan treats.
