I Completed my AWS Course 1. Cloud Exposure Unlike traditional theory-based courses, this program offered practical, cloud-based labs on AWS, where I directly worked with real tools instead of just reading about them. 2. Bridging Cloud + AI Many courses focus either on cloud computing or AI. This program uniquely blends AWS Cloud fundamentals with machine learning foundations, preparing learners to apply AI in scalable, real-world environments. 3. Have you ever wondered what “serverless Gen AI” actually looks like in practice? While working through the Digital Cloud Training AWS AI Practitioner modules, I converted my study time into developing a small serverless app that calls a Bedrock model. Effectively, my first AI-powered web chat on AWS infrastructure. The idea was to 'keep it simple' to illustrate the possibilities of connecting to a language model on Amazon Bedrock entirely on AWS-managed services. The application consists of a static web page hosted on an AWS S3 bucket, an API endpoint on AWS API Gateway, and an AWS Lambda function that manages chat requests and responses to and from Amazon Bedrock (Anthropic Claude 3.5 Sonnet). IAM roles and policies were implemented to enable minimal required access for the Lambda function. Amazon Bedrock is then invoked to generate responses through Claude 3.5 Sonnet. The complete stack was provisioned via an AWS CloudFormation template, resulting in a serverless AI chat application running solely on AWS serverless infrastructure. My key learnings were the challenges in getting the AWS CloudFormation template to do what I wanted it to do! And admittedly, I struggled a bit with the CORS setup. And then finally, after pulling my hair out for a while, I discovered that I had the wrong model ID set in my AWS Lambda function ‘Environment variables’. What a sense of accomplishment I felt once the Claude model responded to the prompts I asked on the web page – Wow!!! #Digital Cloud Training #AWS AI Practitioner
