Alhamdulillah, Proud to strengthen our collaboration for Oman’s frankincense heritage 🌿🇴🇲 Today I had the pleasure of meeting colleagues at the Agriculture & Livestock Research Department, Dhofar to align on our SRPP-2025 project: Sustainable Growth Inspection and Preservation of Frankincense (Luban) Trees in Dhofar. Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Ahmed B. Al-Shanfari and his Team for hosting us and for his guidance, and to our partners at The Land of Frankincense Sites (Al-Baleed Frankincense Museum) for their continued trust and support. What we aligned on Field sites & access: Al-Baleed campus plots and Wadi Dawkah as primary monitoring locations. Methods: Weekly drone + ground surveys with AI-assisted photogrammetry/3D models; non-destructive bark/stem imaging; standardized soil moisture/EC tracking. Data & training: Joint protocols, shared dashboards, and student internships; on-site safety/permit refreshers. Nursery link: Coordination with greenhouse teams for sapling trials and best-practice irrigation/soil amendments. Outreach: Museum/University mini-exhibit on frankincense ecology, technology, and conservation. Agenda 1. Complete baseline stem/bark and soil profiles for the tagged trees. 2. Expand 3D reconstructions for canopy/structural assessments and time-series change detection.
