Magaldi is attending the SolarPACES 2025 in Almeria, the leading international conference on Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) and Thermal Energy Storage (TES).
This year’s edition comes at a crucial time for #Iberia, a region at the forefront of Europe’s energy transition, where the integration of renewable energy and long-duration storage solutions is becoming key to achieving climate and energy transition goals.
Spain and Portugal already stand out as leaders in solar deployment, but the challenge ahead is clear: balancing variable renewable generation with a stable, flexible, and decarbonized energy supply.
This is where Thermal Energy Storage plays a key role. #MGTES (Magaldi Green Thermal Energy Storage) - the world’s first patented thermal battery based on fluidized sand - provides the scalability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness required to bridge the intermittency of solar and wind, while decarbonizing industrial heat in the most energy-intensive sectors (pulp & paper, food & beverage, chemical, pharma, textile, etc.).
MGTES can be a game-changer. Leveraging the region’s abundant renewable resources, it allows excess solar and wind power to be stored during periods of overproduction and dispatched later as clean, affordable #heat. This reduces reliance on fossil fuels and supports Iberia’s ambition to become a European hub for renewable energy and green industry.
“With MGTES, we can provide industries with a flexible, safe, and sustainable solution that matches the scale of the challenge.” says Fulvio Bassetti, Technical Director of Magaldi Green Energy.
By participating in SolarPACES 2025, Magaldi reaffirms its commitment to advancing the role of TES as a cornerstone of the clean energy transition - in Iberia and beyond.
