Quantum momentum for Connecticut. A proposal from QuantumCT — a research initiative co-led by the University of Connecticut and Yale — has been named a finalist for a transformative National Science Foundation (NSF) grant that would drive innovation in quantum technology and strengthen Connecticut’s economy. Bern/Kyoto - Switzerland has agreed to collaborate more closely with Japan in the field of quantum science and technology. State Secretary Martina Hirayama signed a memorandum of understanding in Kyoto on the sidelines of a science forum.

Our intention was to bring together the Austrian Quantum Community, give it a transatlantic perspective, and showcase why Austria has the most quantum scientists per capita in the world. 🚀 From tunneling to teleportation Let’s be clear: this doesn’t mean we can teleport a book (or a person) from Barcelona to New York — not yet. What can be teleported today is quantum information: the full description of a particle’s state. When transferred, that information allows the exact recreation of the original at a distant location — while the original state disappears. It’s not moving matter. It’s moving meaning — the data that defines it. 🧭 Why this matters The 2025 Nobel Prize doesn’t give us sci-fi teleporters. But it brings us one step closer to understanding how information shapes reality. Quantum Potential in Denmark Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending an inspiring event at the Det Kongelige Danske Videnskabernes Selskab (Royal Danish Academy of Sciences and Letters) focused on the latest developments in the quantum field. The room was packed, the energy was high, and the questions were flowing. The speakers covered a wide spectrum—from quantum technologies and sensors to biological applications, algorithms, and spin-outs. What stood out most was how each presenter shared a personal journey into quantum research, coming from diverse disciplines. It was a powerful reminder of how interdisciplinary this field truly is. There’s no doubt: quantum research holds immense promise. And Denmark is uniquely positioned to lead, thanks to strong collaboration across universities and a rich legacy that continues to attract global interest. Several international participants highlighted Denmark’s historic contributions, and the enthusiasm for partnering with Danish institutions, companies, and foundations was palpable. Big news for quantum research.
