We eat with our eyes first! It's the same with a resume. Nobody is going to want to dig in if it looks gross... 👀 THE BASICS - Consistency is key: 1) Choose a readable font (Times New Roman ain't it anymore) 2) Choose a readable size (10, 11, or 12 pt depending on the font) 3) Be consistent, visually speaking (no colors, columns, lines, or unnecessary bolding or italics inside bullets) 4) Appropriate spacing (margins, lines between sections, INDENT YOUR BULLETS, etc.) 5) Structured layout (capitalized section headers, reverse chronological order for job experience, 4-6 bullets per job depending on tenure and job scope) 6) Do. Not. Use. Templates. Putting together a clean straightforward resume really is not as hard or as scary as it seems. Templates off Canva, Google, or even Word do you no favors. Keep it clean. Keep it crispy. Make someone want to "dig in" to what you're serving! #resumewriting #coaching #recruiting

Rachel Johnson I had my resume professionally edited on Fiverr; he recommended Sources San Pro for font style and 9.5 pt for font size with the details of your employment history. He recommended size 15 for the headers, like "Career Profile" and "Experience". What are your thoughts on those sizes?

Rachel Johnson I agree that templates are NOT your friends. Do you have a recommended font? I love TNR and I'm sad that it has fallen out of favor.
