When your Instagram algorithm starts doing the work of a diplomat. I wrote a new essay.. part humour, part heartbreak, part accidental peace treaty. It began with a reel of a linen dress and ended with a message from a store in Lahore. In between: a handkerchief from Poland, a wallet that wasn’t really from Napa, a crash course in customs fees, currency conversions, and quiet longing. It’s about algorithms, aesthetics, and the small, almost invisible acts of connection that survive politics, postage, and translation.
