What’s one way you’ve used AI to simplify a task? I’ve used AI in different ways across teaching, practice, and research. In the classroom, AI helps simplify routine tasks like summarising readings or creating quick visuals, allowing more time for deeper discussions and applied learning. From a management education perspective, I’ve used AI to design case-based exercises and interactive dashboards that make marketing concepts more relevant and future-ready. As a researcher, I’ve used AI tools to help me quickly structure my writing, check alignment with journal guidelines, and generate visual summaries of complex models. This not only saves time but also lets me focus more on critical analysis and original contributions.

My take on AI in the classroom that my company addresses: incorporate AI in the classroom. It’s not going away. Let’s teach our students how to use it; how to evaluate it; how to write great prompts so that when they get a job, they know how to use it to their advantage. Can you imagine an accountant or mathematician that does not use a calculator? We can still teach our students how to write- in fact, we can use AI examples of writing for the students to evaluate. Then we can have them write in class with pencil/pen to paper. I see it as a win-win situation because a student has their own teacher at their fingertips. AI is not the enemy. https://lnkd.in/g4cEa4WT

💡 What do students really think about AI in education? In my Digital Governance course this week, I decided to flip the conversation. Instead of telling my 40 students how to use AI, we asked them: 👉 How do YOU think AI should be implemented in education? 👉 What do YOU need from us, your teachers, to make that work? And the answers were… fascinating. 🎭 Some students want to go back to pen and paper, they crave focus and less screen time. 🤖 Others are all in on AI, using it to brainstorm, analyze, and explore complex topics. 🧭 Many asked for more guidance, not more restrictions. They want to learn how to use AI critically, how to prompt better, and how to turn AI from a shortcut into a learning companion. But what stood out most: They asked for more collaboration, more expert voices, and fewer one-way lectures. They don’t want teachers to just “read slides” anymore. They want conversations, debates, and real-world input. ✨ My takeaway: Let’s listen to our students. Let’s co-create education where AI enhances, not replaces, learning. As teachers, we can: • Introduce students to trusted AI tools and show how to use them responsibly. • Teach critical thinking through prompting and reflection. • Invite guest speakers and industry experts to make learning more alive. • Design assignments that reward curiosity, not copy-paste. AI in education shouldn’t be about replacing teachers. It should be about reimagining learning, together. 🔁 I’d love to hear from fellow educators and students: How are you embracing (or resisting) AI in the classroom? What’s working and what isn’t? #Education #AIinEducation #DigitalGovernance #FutureOfLearning #TeachingInnovation #CriticalThinking Karel de Grote-Hogeschool

For educators looking for resources to enhance their pedagogy with new Ai tools, here is a great resource: "Elevating Educational Design with AI: Making Learning Accessible, Inclusive, and Equitable", by Catlin R. Tucker (Author), Katie Novak (Author) "...a guide for teachers who want to use technology to activate engagement, give students agency over their learning, and streamline workflows. In an era when AI is rapidly reshaping our world, some educators feel apprehensive about integrating it into their practice. Without a focus on the humans behind the ideas, AI-generated lessons can end up perpetuating one-size-fits-all learning experiences, undermining efforts to create inclusive and differentiated learning environments where all students can thrive." https://lnkd.in/gzRdnxx4.

Five professors from different continents had the same complaint about AI tools. None were built for actual classrooms. Wooclap listened. The result? Five AI teaching agents designed by educators, for educators. These aren't generic AI tools repurposed for education. They solve real classroom problems: 🎯 Learning Consolidator - creates follow-up questions based on student responses 📝 Answer Organizer - groups open-ended responses by theme 🖼️ Image Labeler - turns diagrams into interactive questions automatically 💡 Idea Generator - sparks meaningful discussions 📊 Summarizer - synthesizes student inputs instantly The impact is immediate. Biology professor Carlos Goller notes these tools "open up debates we didn't have time for before." Christian Grevisse from Luxembourg University highlights the time savings with technical diagrams. What makes this different? Teacher input drove every feature. Not tech companies guessing what educators need. The platform integrates seamlessly into existing workflows. No learning curve. No disruption. Data protection remains paramount with ISO-certified safeguards. This represents a shift in edtech development. From feature-driven to need-driven innovation. When educators lead the design process, everyone wins. Students get better engagement. Teachers save time. Learning improves. What classroom challenge would you want AI to solve next? #EdTech #AIinEducation #ClassroomInnovation 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲꞉ https://lnkd.in/gZjDJnwc

When you see a post that showcases 40-50 different AI tools what do you think? Personally, I automatically go into information overload. We need to remember that the vast majority of teachers lack confidence in using AI in the classroom as it is still very new to them. My suggestion is for teachers and schools to start with a small AI toolkit and implement them effectively. The following platforms are the AI tools that I started with and would suggest any beginner teacher/school to implement first. You can set up classrooms on Canva and enable your students to use a broad selection of AI tools in a controlled environment. https://www.canva.com/ MIZOU is an easy to use platform where teachers can create their own age appropriate chatbots for their students to use. The best section of this platform is that teachers can easily monitor what their students are using their chatbot for. https://mizou.com/bot HelpMeTeach is a teachers AI teaching assistant that has over 80 AI tools to help teachers with their time consuming tasks. Sign up for free to test it out. https://lnkd.in/gMrz_Z_z. If you have any platforms that teachers using AI for the first time should try out please share.

🔍 Exploring AI in the Classroom — Real Projects, Real Engagement This week, during our after-school AI club, my Grade 4 & 5 students discovered how to create educational videos using NotebookLM — a powerful tool that allows you to generate concise, engaging explanations from your favorite sources. The challenge I gave them: 🎯 Choose a topic you’re passionate about. 🔍 Research reliable sources. 📑 Share them with me so I could feed them into NotebookLM. ✍️ Write a clear, student-friendly prompt. 🎥 Generate your own explainer video. ✅ The result? Unique educational videos on topics they care about — created in minutes. (one example attached) 📚 We used the session not only to explore content creation, but also to reflect on source quality, clarity of explanation, and the ethical use of AI tools. 💡 NotebookLM is more than a summarizer — it's a creativity booster. It helps students teach rather than just learn. Perfect for flipped learning, revision, or collaborative research projects. I’ll be sharing this experience with staff through Toddle — but I’m also sharing it here because I believe it’s a glimpse of where education is heading. 🔗 Let’s empower learners to become creators — not just consumers. #Education #VisibleLearning #StudentAgency #NotebookLM #CreativeLearning #FutureOfEducation #EdTech
