Cottage Inn Gourmet Pizza is expanding into downtown with plans to open its second Grand Rapids location at the former Daisies Place restaurant. Work will start next month on 15 Ionia Ave. SW as local Cottage Inn franchisees JD Witherell and James Comiskey turn the 2,500-square-foot space into a pizza restaurant. When it opens in early May, the Cottage Inn restaurant will sell pizza, subs, calzones, wings and more to around 40 guests for dine-in service and delivery. Cottage Inn’s downtown location also will offer pizza by the slice and stay open until 3 a.m. for late-night diners. Witherell, director of franchise sales and new store development for Cottage Inn, said he and business partner Comiskey have signed a 10-year lease for the space. The downtown expansion comes less than a year after they opened their first Grand Rapids location in Eastown, pictured above. ⭐️You do not have to be a national restaurant chain to market like a national restaurant chain.⭐️ Wings and Rings is one of my favorite brands right now. They’re not a small brands by any means but they’re also not one of the largest (yet). They’re doing amazing work on their brand both with their four walls marketing and with their franchise development. “How to lose all of your market share, franchisees and profits in one years time” Pizza Hut 101 The writings on the wall for any and all national restaurant chains… Pizza Hut has alienated themselves so bad from the public image that their franchisees won’t even pay them to remain a franchise. Anywhere from 50-179 Restaurants closed overnight. Franchisees allege that Pizza Hut has not stayed relevant, nor competitive with Dominos, Little Caesar’s & Papa Johns, and have not made progress in upgrading technology and delivery apps.
