✨ Yesterday, I had the privilege of joining the 25th anniversary celebration of The Clearing Corporation of India (CCIL). It is truly inspiring to see how much this great institution has accomplished over the past 25 years and how it continues to focus on bringing innovation to the markets. Among my professional milestones, working with CCIL on the USD-INR Clearing Services and later on the CLS Services remains a personal highlight. These experiences not only shaped me professionally but also provided invaluable learning opportunities through my interactions with the team at CCIL, led by Indirani Rao I am sure my fellow ABN AMRO colleagues who were involved would be equally proud of their association with CCIL and of the institution’s remarkable achievements — Chitra, Wolf, Joerg, Vladimir, Nikhil, Shameem, Roland, Lindy, and many more. I would like to congratulate CCIL on this incredible milestone and extend my best wishes for a future filled with continued success. It was a pleasure meeting the current and former CCIL team members — though I did miss meeting a few who could not be there. The CCIL fourth-party aggregator model to facilitate PvP settlement (under third-party services of CLS Settlement member ABN AMRO) around 2005 has been an innovative offering, quite ahead of its time. Importantly, the Indian interbank market practices of the mandatory clearing of OTC forex transactions introduced in the early 2000s became part of G20 regulatory standards to manage and mitigate OTC derivatives risks only after the post-GFC years.
