Relief International’s Post

‼️ There is only one partially functioning hospital left in North #Gaza: Al Awda – Tal Al Zaatar, which is supported by Relief International thanks to EU in Emergencies. Nearly 12 weeks into a total siege by the government of Israel, the hospital is under continuous bombardment and running out of all of its supplies. Yesterday the facility’s ambulance was directly hit by four bullets fired by an Israeli quadcopter. Today its water tanks and another patient ward were struck.    People are losing limbs and dying under forced starvation and displacement, yet Gaza’s healthcare system is hanging on by a thread unable to meet the colossal need.   “We are doing our best, but we cannot catch our breath,” says Dr Salha, the hospital’s Director.    “We are running out of everything: medicines, fuel for the medical machines, beds, energy… The patients, the staff, everyone is at the end of their rope.    “We are receiving dozens of injured every day, and too many lifeless bodies. This must stop,” he pleads.   Dr Salha explained that most people in need of care in North Gaza are not able to reach the hospital because it is too dangerous and the extreme levels of hunger are leaving people too weak to walk. 👉🏾 Read our full statement: https://lnkd.in/eCdc_spX Al Awda Health and Community Association
