💬 A Day in the Life of a Hospital Care Coordinator Every morning, somewhere in a hospital, a care coordinator logs into their system at 7:30 AM. Before the first cup of coffee cools, the spreadsheet opens — hundreds of patient names, each one needing a follow-up, a scan, a call, or a result check. “Did the follow-up PET CT get ordered?” “Did the patient schedule their scan?” “Did the pathology report come in — benign or malignant?” By the fifth patient, the mental load sets in. The EMR has a dozen tabs open. Notes are scattered across emails, sticky notes, and spreadsheets. And somewhere in that chaos — a follow-up might get delayed. Meanwhile, patients themselves are lost in a maze of instructions: They’ve received a letter saying their CT showed something suspicious. But now what? Who do they call? Do they need a referral? Anxiety fills the gap where clear communication should be. This isn’t one person’s story — it’s the daily reality across hospitals worldwide. A reality where clinicians are buried in administrative work, and patients fall through cracks not because of negligence, but because of complexity. Now imagine if technology could quietly assist — scanning reports overnight, flagging new findings, creating task lists, sending reminders, scheduling scans automatically, and keeping everyone in sync. First Care Family Medicine's use of Sunoh.ai with eClinicalWorks highlights improvements in primary care documentation and service expansion. As a urologist working daily with complex surgical notes and theatre workflows, I know these gains don’t directly translate to specialties where procedure detail and NHS integration pose much bigger challenges. From my founder perspective at Docyment, success in primary care is a useful benchmark but specialty AI must tackle bespoke procedural complexity and NHS procurement realities before adoption is viable.
