🌍 ROPEA joined the European conversation! Our Executive Director, DANIELA ILIESCU, represented ROPEA at the Invest Europe Meeting of National PE & VC Associations held in Prague on 21–22 October. The discussions focused on the development of the European private equity ecosystem and key challenges ahead: 🔹 attracting institutional investors and addressing the funding gap, especially for scale-ups; 🔹 improving reporting and tax incentive models; 🔹 revising EU policies on fundraising, fund management, and climate resilience; 🔹 updating the IPEV Valuation Guidelines and ESG reporting template. Europe just took a decisive step to scale its deep-tech champions. European Commission is partnering with top-tier private investors to set up the multi-billion-euro Scaleup Europe Fund, focused on late-stage growth rounds for strategic technologies. The Fund will target major European-led rounds, backing AI, quantum, semiconductors, robotics and autonomous systems, energy and space tech, biotechnologies and medical technologies, advanced materials, and agritech. First investments are expected from early 2026, following the selection of a private fund manager via a public call. Alongside the European Commission and the European Investment Bank (EIB) Group, the potential founding investors include: Novo Holdings🇩🇰; EIFO (Export and Investment Fund of Denmark)🇩🇰; CriteriaCaixa🇪🇸; Santander/Mouro Capital🇪🇸; Fondazione Compagnia di San Paolo/Intesa Sanpaolo/Fondazione Cariplo🇮🇹; APG Asset Management on behalf of ABP🇳🇱; Wallenberg Investments AB🇸🇪; and Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK)🇵🇱.
