Purpose-led co-founder and CEO of Koskela. | ESG and Circularity| B Corporation | Former Chair of BCorp Climate Collective (ANZ) | Board Member Design Declares Australia | 2025 Good Design Australia Women in Design Award

I’m incredibly honoured to be the recipient of the 2025 Good Design Australia Women in Design Award. Thank you to the jury, and to Brandon Gien and Rachel Wye, for this meaningful recognition. It’s especially humbling to follow in the footsteps of Caroline Butler-Bowdon, who received this award for her remarkable work in using design to shape our cities. 25 years ago, Russel Koskela (my co-founder and life partner) and I set out to build Koskela—a company that truly reflects our values. It’s been quite a journey. - We’re proud to be Australia’s first furniture company to achieve #BCorp certification. - We pioneered integrating First Nations culture into interior design in meaningful, respectful ways. - And despite the early scepticism, our commitment to Australian manufacturing is now one of the strongest pillars of our business. Today, our focus is sharper than ever on the biggest challenge of our time: #ClimateCollapse. We are committed to transitioning Koskela into a fully circular business—because we believe no designer or product company should operate without #circularity at the core. This is the design challenge of our lifetime. And designers hold the keys to solving it. Let’s rise to meet it. #WomenInDesign #GoodDesignAwards #Sustainability #DesignForImpact #CircularDesign #FirstNationsDesign #DesignLeadership
