According to Eurostat, in 2023, every EU citizen generated 511 kg of municipal waste. Of that: ✅ 48 % was recycled 🔥 25 % was incinerated 🏞️ 22 % was landfilled Packaging waste remains a growing challenge. In 2022, according to European Environmental Bureau (EEB), EU citizens produced over 180 kg of packaging waste per person. Today, on the first day of the European Week for Waste Reduction, it’s worth highlighting the targets and opportunities ahead 👉 by 2025, the EU aims to recycle 65 % of all packaging waste. 💡 We see this as a call to action: waste is a design flaw waiting for innovation. Climate Tech founders and impact investors have a unique opportunity to develop the infrastructure, technologies, and policies that make a zero-waste future possible.
