Singapore Tourism Board’s Post

The 3rd Travel Agents & Tourist Guides Industry Forum (TATGIF) concluded successfully with a record-breaking attendance of 570 industry leaders and passionate professionals! Themed "Navigating the Future of Tourism Through Innovation", this year’s TATGIF saw the launch of two key initiatives: ❇️ Travel Agents Roadmap 2.0: Co-created with travel agents over the past year - offering practical strategies to drive business growth, embrace innovation and strengthen industry capabilities toward Tourism 2040. ❇️ Future of Guiding 2.0 (Phase 2): Features a revamped Tourist Guide Training Programme and the new Learn & Do framework that allow guides more flexibility and greater ownership of their career development. The forum also celebrated outstanding tourist guides through the Tourist Guide Recognition Awards 2025. Congratulations to Outstanding Tourist Guide Award winners Brixton Jeou and Yashodhara D/O Dhoraisingam, Innovation Award recipients Alvin Chiong Weng Inn and Yap Seow Choong, and Newcomer Award winners John Wee Chun Sing, Mark Lam Tiam Weng and Pak-Juan KOE. Thank you to our plenary speakers: Yong Min HO (Yong) from The Urbanist Singapore and Pei Shyuan Yeo (P.S.) from Everyday Tour Company - two progressive tourist guides who shared practical insights on guiding with purpose and passion - and NAV QIRTI (Ideactio Pte Ltd & School of MetaSkills) who offered valuable insights on identifying and addressing common barriers to innovation. Travel agents and tourist guides are the heart of Singapore’s tourism scene. As we look ahead to Tourism 2040, innovating, staying agile, and telling captivating stories will make all the difference. Together, we’ll shape a future that’s bold, bright, and full of possibilities.✨ #PassionMadePossible

It was lovely to be among my friends from travel and tourism industry after a gap of a few years to do my keynote. The energy at conference was palpable. You feel most satisfied as a speaker when your key message finds resonance and relevance - Thank you to all who came to me personally and told me this. A big thanks to Singapore Tourism Board for inviting me to share with your big and vibrant community.

Reminds me of a tourism roundtable I attended where the most practical ideas came straight from those on the frontlines, agents and guides. When the roadmap is built with their input, the outcomes are far more relevant. In today’s evolving travel landscape, they aren’t just service providers, they’re the storytellers and problem-solvers shaping the entire experience. It would be great to see more collaboration between markets like Singapore and India. There’s so much we can exchange and apply locally.
