𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐇𝐚𝐥𝐟 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐒𝐏𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐈𝐭? Almost half of the tracks on DSPs get fewer than 10 streams per year (according to Luminate report). I’ve been debating with a lot of people recently about these under-the-radar tracks / artists. To everyone who believes they’re important, useful, deserve remuneration etc.., let me know your arguments in the comments. I’m genuinely curious to hear different perspectives. #streaming #artistcentric #data

The Evolution of Broadcast Synchronisation In the early days of television, producers relied on clapperboards and manual adjustments to synchronise audio and video. Fast forward to today, and the complexity of modern broadcast setups demands a more sophisticated approach. At Hitomi, we've revolutionised this process with our MatchBox technology. By leveraging precise electronic measurements, we've reduced sync time from minutes to mere seconds. This isn't just about efficiency—it's about elevating the quality of your broadcast and ensuring viewers remain engaged. Making sure viewers hear the sound of the ball hitting the bat at the same time as they see it. Whether you're managing a multi-camera live sports event or a complex studio production, precision timing is crucial. How are you tackling sync challenges in your productions? #LipSync #Latency #SportsBroadcasting #LiveEvents #PerfectTiming

In today’s broadcast industry, accurate synchronisation across IP-based workflows under SMPTE 2110 is crucial. Challenges like jitter, drift, and sync errors can disrupt live and distributed productions, affecting viewer experience. Timebeat’s high-accuracy Precision Time Protocol (PTP) delivers nanosecond-level precision, GNSS resilience, and seamless integration, ensuring flawless synchronization for production and playout. Live Event Broadcasts : Challenge - Live productions, such as sports and concerts, require precise timing to synchronise multi-camera feeds, video replays, and other dynamic elements in real time. Any jitter or drift in timing disrupts the smooth switching between these feeds. Impact - Reduced production quality and missed moments in live coverage can diminish viewer engagement.

The live entertainment space has evolved in so many ways post-pandemic. The stiff at-home streaming competition is no match for our human desire for in-real-life (IRL) connection. Technology continues to amaze audiences on stages worldwide, and we are reconnecting in venues once thought of as relics of the past. JamBase and Forward did a little digging on what's happening in this entertainment world of ours! - What’s getting people out of the house in 2025? - How are people consuming live entertainment at home? - What are the signals and drivers setting the trends in 2025? We worked with JamBase to answer some of these questions and more. Ever been working an event and heard someone on the team yell “The Audio Is Out!”? What happens when you’re streaming your event and the audio seems fine in person, but it’s not coming through on the live stream? May options for streaming - software or hardware for your events. If you have the wrong product or Internet stuff happens, the audio can go out. If you have a great crew on site, they can jump on it quickly to diagnose and solve the issue quickly. But if you cut back on too many legs of the table, it’s going to fall over. If you’re a technical producer with an event coming up that you have a tighter budget for than you would like, let’s chat. There are right and wrong ways to save money, and the wrong ways will be catastrophic. Based on my experience, I have some pointers that will help you save the day. The Rise of Audio-Only Streaming. Great Example of Leveraging Content Versioning for Enhanced Accessibility. France TV has pioneered the audio-only streaming of all its channels, a strategic content versioning initiative first launched in 2019. Designed primarily for the visually impaired it works out to be interesting for a wider audience. It's also incredibly practical for the mobile user. Whether you're driving or commuting, audio-only streaming ensures you stay connected to your favorite broadcasts without the need to engage visually. #ContentVersioning #MediaAccessibility #StreamingInnovation
INSIGHT of the day: streaming of audio only version of broadcast channel We see in some news channels app, like BFM TV in France, a radio version of the broadcast channel available in streaming, but here it is not 100% of the live content, it is being editorialized. I have discovered France TV offers the audio of all of its channels in streaming, this was developed in 2019 for visually impaired people. Why is this important? First when you are mobile, in a car where your attention is on the road, or in public transports where BW is always spotty a live audio is perfect to follow your favorite event, everyone will connect this with the Paris Olympics. The second reason is we are always looking at ways to reduce traffic, I have advocated for an “audio only” mode on YouTube where music video is #1 category. Feel free to share your experience of “audio only” TV channels. Matthieu Parmentier Dom Robinson Benjamin Schwarz https://lnkd.in/gvbhBi8P
