THE CORE VALUE IS GOING TO BE IN ACTUALLY DEMOCRATISING THE VALUE PEOPLE GET FROM ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE. Recently I got the opportunity to sit down with the GAEA AI podcast to talk about the #Journalism and #AI, Trust, #DeepFakes and the evolving role of #ProductManagement leaders with the help of AI. Here are some snippets. The full version of the video interview is available on YouTube, Spotify, Apple etc (episode #33). 1️⃣ "The most useful shift that I think that we are going to see over the next three to five years is actually not that suddenly Corporate IT and the CIO have worked out what to do with AI. It’s actually making AI the same and as prevalent and as ubiquitous as the internet and making it Everyday AI as opposed to the role and the responsibility of the IT department." 2️⃣ "We think Dow Jones is the perfect partner for publishers, especially in this transformation of the news and media industry." 3️⃣ [On Product Management]: "The fastest way to burn a million dollars is to get all the way to the end before you get some feedback." 4️⃣ "There has been something like a 500% increase in [deepfake] content since 2023. The worrying thing is that some research recently showed that 73% of people cannot distinguish sophisticated deep fakes." 5️⃣ "It is interesting that we are using AI to recreate human processes. But what if this ‘alien intelligence’ would function even better if it wasn't following traditional human ways of thinking.” 6️⃣ "We are even moving towards a world whereby our human bodies become the sensors for direction." 7️⃣ "The core value is going to be in actually democratising the value people get from artificial intelligence. So what if the trick is that it is not about trying to keep it in the realm of complexity but it is actually about simplifying it." The future of product management is AI-native. In a recent conversation with Marily Nika, author of Building AI-Powered Products, one thing became crystal clear: all product managers are becoming AI product managers. However, this isn’t about chasing hype; it’s about utilising AI where it truly adds value. Product Managers who embrace AI strategically today will define the products of tomorrow. Thinking Beyond the Hype, The Product Challenge of Generative AI Following my work on AI Strategy during my recent externship, I’ve been obsessed with this question. How do we, as product builders, move Gen AI from a cool tool to a core, valuable feature that users rely on? The challenge isn't the technology it's the governance and user experience. We need to define clear guardrails for Fairness, Reliability, and Explainability to build user trust. My take? The best AI products will be those that augment human workflows without introducing bias or compromising ethical standards. What are the biggest Product Management challenges you see with AI integration today?

Stop chasing AI hype: Here's how to use it to *really* build products faster. Forget theory; we use AI for tangible wins. Imagine generative design to iterate prototypes in minutes, predictive analytics for smarter material sourcing, or automated quality control to cut lead times. AI isn't a magic button. It's a precise tool to tackle bottlenecks: optimize designs, predict supply chain issues, or improve testing. This approach turns AI from a buzzword into a competitive edge, getting your hardware to market faster.

One test I use before sharing a new product is removing the word “AI” from the pitch. The positioning isn't strong enough if the value proposition doesn’t hold up without it. Being “built with AI” doesn’t separate you in today’s market. What matters is what you’ve built because of it, the unique capability, performance, or customer benefit that others can’t match.

Today’s Food for thought 🧠🧠💡💡 Sometimes I wonder: Will AI make product managers less relevant? The more I work with AI, the clearer the answer becomes - absolutely not. What AI does is shift our role. Less time firefighting. More time vision-setting. Less guesswork. More user empathy at scale. AI isn’t replacing PMs anytime soon - it’s going to empower the product folks and leaders to build faster, smarter, and more purpose-driven products. 💡 I’d love to hear: How are you already using AI in your product building journey?
