Check out NACFE's Run On Less - Messy Middle demonstration, especially if you're a fan of charts and data. The "Messy Middle" is a term originally coined by NACFE, referring to the period between the present and the ultimate transition of the trucking industry to zero-emission freight movement. Through the GUI powered by Geotab, you can analyze routes and various performance metrics of trucks operating on natural gas, all-electric, hydrogen fuel cell, biodiesel, and renewable diesel. Call me biased, but notable installations include the Cummins X15N natural gas engine in UPS' Kenworth T680, Wegman's Peterbilt 567, and Kleysen Group's Kenworth T880. Mesilla Valley Transportation is running the diesel variant of the X15 engine in International's LT. https://lnkd.in/gWQihrEp

Jianjun (Jj) Wang, CEO of Goldsea International, initiated the discussion. New #technology has been developed rapidly in recent years to reduce carbon emissions and improve #fuel efficiency. From fuel itself, we have dual-fuel options like LNG, Methanol, and Ammonia, which can help reduce carbon consumption and emissions; meanwhile, other methods are also being adopted, such as sailing and air lubrication. It presents management with a new challenge in managing these ships, as well as determining which fuel or system will be the better choice. https://lnkd.in/gMwPfzxz

✨ WinGD Leads Green Revolution With Ethanol-Fuelled Two-Stroke Engine in 2026! 🚢 In a bold move accelerating maritime decarbonization, Swiss engine innovator WinGD Ltd. has announced the first ethanol-fuelled two-stroke engine, set to debut in 2026 with deliveries beginning in 2027. This revolutionary development offers shipowners a reliable, lower-carbon propulsion solution for both newbuilds and retrofits — backed by Swiss engineering and over a decade of clean fuel R&D. 🔋 From Lab to Launch: A Decade of Ethanol Innovation WinGD’s ethanol engine builds on the success of its proven X-DF-M methanol platform and leverages: 🔹 Advanced diesel-cycle combustion 🔹 Custom ethanol-adapted injection systems 🔹 Optimized controls for energy density and volume efficiency This project traces back to 2014, from Swiss and EU-funded initiatives like HERCULES 2, positioning ethanol as a serious contender in the clean fuel mix. ⚓ Why Ethanol? A Scalable, Renewable Marine Fuel 🔹 Produced sustainably from biomass 🔹 Compatible with global emissions regulations 🔹 Readily available through global supply chains 🔹 No need for radical ship infrastructure overhaul 🤝 Strategic Collaboration: WinGD + Global Ethanol Association (GEA) Earlier this month, WinGD became a founding member of the newly launched Global Ethanol Association (GEA) — uniting ethanol producers, engine builders, and shipowners under a common mission to advance ethanol as a clean, scalable marine fuel. 📘 What’s Next? Further technical and commercial details will be released in WinGD’s upcoming Low-Speed Engines Booklet (early 2026), as the company finalizes collaborations with shipowners, ethanol suppliers, and class societies on both dedicated and dual-fuel configurations. ⚓ Powering a Fuel-Flexible Future for Shipping WinGD’s ethanol innovation is more than an engine — it’s a commitment to transforming maritime energy through flexibility, reliability, and sustainability. 👇 Discover how ethanol is joining methanol, LNG, and hydrogen as a key fuel in the race to decarbonize global shipping. #Switzerland #Europe #WinGD #EthanolFuel #Shipping #Ethanol #Energy #MarineEngines #XDFM #CleanFuel #Decarbonization #MaritimeEnergy #GEA #GlobalEthanolAssociation #AlternativeFuels #Bunkering #Maritime #Singapore #UK #USA #Singapore #Dubai #SouthKorea #Japan #China #Rotteram #Houston #FutureFuels #EthanolEngine #BunkeringNews #Innovation #ShippingTransition #SwissEngineering #EnergyTransition #TwoStrokeTechnology #GreenShipping #ShippingNews #FuelFlexibility #LowCarbonMarineFuel #BunkerFuel #Shipping2030 #IMO2050 https://lnkd.in/ddVnC-yq
