St. Francis-Emory Healthcare’s Post

The DAISY Award recognizes the extraordinary compassion and care nurses provide every day. Congrats to our latest DAISY Award recipient, Women’s Services Loukia Sanville, RN, an exceptional colleague who helps new moms on our Labor & Delivery team. Sanville was nominated by a grateful first-time mother who says she helped her through the nerves of the labor process. An excerpt from the nomination: "I had gone in at 40 weeks and three days pregnant for my induction as a first-time mom. Loukia immediately made me feel more than comfortable and calmed my nerves. Not only was she kind and caring, but I could really tell she loves what she does. I felt like more than just another patient to her. She happened to get called in during the later part of my labor where I was in excruciating pain. “As soon as she walked in, she immediately offered me comfort and advocated on my behalf to the other nurses in the room. She took it upon herself to also take pictures during my delivery, and I am so grateful for that! She even made a point to see me in recovery. My husband and I both enjoyed seeing her walk into our room our entire hospital stay. You can tell nursing isn’t just a job for her, and I love that." Would you like to nominate a deserving nurse?
