A few take-aways from the Inspire 2025 Entrepreneurial Festival in Nicosia last week. 👉 despite the island's small size, there are a lot of start ups, especially in the tech area 👉 (as if not known already) 90% of startups fail, with half of them during the first 3 years 👉 from a VC standpoint, one of the most important criteria they have when considering to invest in a company is revenue generation; many founders take the other way, leveraging on their great idea, but failing oftentimes to obtain the much needed funding 👉AI is here to stay and before even thinking of opening a business think if its idea can be replaced by a prompt, if not today at least in the near future 👉 4Ts for deciding to invest in a startup: team, traction, technology and territory 👉 one of the founders mentioned "There's no such thing as work life balance, but rather work life choices": not sure what to make of that, I'll let you decide if that's the case In any case, Cyprus is becoming more popular for investors and for those who don't know, tax benefits (apart from the geographical location) play a key role in it.
