Physics Wallah has launched a new device called the AI Box that can turn any TV or projector into a learning device. Students can watch lessons, take quizzes, and prepare for exams like IIT-JEE, NEET, law, and board exams in Hindi. This device is aimed at students who do not have access to a mobile phone or internet at home. It can be plugged into any TV, projector, or screen, including low-cost or basic models. Once connected, students can watch pre-loaded lessons, practice quizzes, and take notes directly on the screen. Teachers can also use the device to guide students through the content, making it easier to teach even in schools where teacher training is limited. The device supports YouTube and other apps, giving schools and students flexibility to access different types of content. Its simple plug-and-play design means it can be used in classrooms, community centers, and homes without any technical setup. Many schools, especially in small towns and villages, face challenges like limited teacher training and lack of access to online resources. The AI Box addresses these issues by providing ready-made educational content that students can use at any time. It helps children who cannot spend much time online or do not have devices at home to prepare for competitive exams and improve their learning outcomes. By bringing lessons directly to TVs, the AI Box allows students to engage with study material in Hindi and interact with quizzes and exercises, making learning easier and more accessible. #PhysicsWallah #AIBox #IITJEE #NEETPrep #BoardExams #HindiMediumLearning #EdTech #AlakhPandey #Startuppedia
That looks suspiciously like a Raspberry Pi! Why name it as an AI box? It can't run any heavy AI models. Maybe piggybacking over the AI hype?
Physics Wallah’s AI Box is a classic case of pathological altruism in the Indian education system. I studied in a Hindi-medium school till Class 5 before switching to English medium because I wanted to access global knowledge. Initially, I struggled scoring straight C’s and B’s but that challenge pushed me to learn English, think deeper, and grow faster. Creating Hindi–English hybrid teaching tools may seem helpful, but it actually limits long-term growth. Most world-class research, textbooks, and higher education resources are in English mastering it is essential for true learning and opportunity. Also, we already have free, world-class platforms like Khan Academy offering NCERT-aligned courses from Class 6 to 12. If an entrepreneur doesn’t aim to solve global problems but only local symptoms, their innovation risks becoming shallow. Every entrepreneur should strive to be a polymath, because the biggest bias is thinking “I’m not biased.”
Don’t let AI hype slow down real learning. Raspberry Pi is best for teaching coding, electronics, and creativity not for selling random products. In today’s AI world, it should be used to make education better, not as a gimmick.
Startup Pedia this is exactly the kind of innovation india needs low-cost, high-impact, inclusive. reminds me how even in health, access matters more than advancement. beautiful execution by pw.
Probably i didn't understand the full history of the product. How is it different from "Memory Stick" where the preloaded data can be watched in TV/ Projector/ Monitors with USB capability?
Nowadays, people can easily fool the world by labeling products as "AI." This so-called "AI box" is nothing more than a Raspberry Pi with a custom casing — technology that students were already using in their college projects over 10 years ago. There’s nothing truly AI about it.
Is he going by Byju's way? Byju's used to also forcefully sell those tabs with all their courses in them...it failed badly
Selling unrelated products under the guise of education only adds financial pressure on parents while generating revenue. The Raspberry Pi can be utilized for far more meaningful and impactful purposes than this. Raspberry Pi what do you think?
Ha ha ha... It is raspberry Pi. People using it from more than 10 years.
