We’ve been selected as one of 10 startups to take part in the Slush Starter program, which means we’re heading to Slush2025 in Helsinki this November. As part of the program, we’ll be getting access to group and individual coaching to help us prepare for meetings with investors — which is great timing, since we’re right in the middle of our fundraising process. Even better: we were also chosen as one of the “jury favorites”, which comes with a bonus — a half-day booth at the event and travel support, thanks to Air France. Big thanks to CCI Lyon Métropole Saint-Etienne Roanne for the opportunity and the prep support — and congrats to the other startups selected: ClearSurgery, Finishers, Pelican Health, Fleetiz, Ascend Beyond Space, Manitty, Verley, DIAMFAB and CirculaCar. Looking forward to meeting everyone in Helsinki — and to what’s ahead. #Slush2025 #Startup #Fundraising #InvestorMeetings #FrenchTech

The KlimUp community is thriving! 🚀✨ Unbound Potential, a KlimUp startup from Batch #1, has just raised CHF 14.4 million 💸 from top investors including Founderful, Kvanted, and our trusted KlimUp partner Zürcher Kantonalbank, alongside strong non-dilutive contributors such as SPRIND - Bundesagentur für Sprunginnovationen, Innosuisse, Migros Pioneer Fund, and of course #KlimUp itself. 🌱 This is a textbook example of blended finance in deep tech: capex-heavy ventures like these require smart structures that combine private capital with public and philanthropic non-dilutive funding, ensuring founders are not diluted too early. Building such matchups should become the default playbook for ambitious early-stage deep tech startups emerging from our ecosystem. 💡 We are proud to see Unbound Potential leading the way and excited to follow their journey as they bring scalable, membrane-free redox flow batteries to market. 🔋🌍 A big shoutout to Anetta Platek-Mielczarek, Dr. Eng., David Taylor, Emilio Dal Re, Pier Giuseppe Rivano and Federico Paratore. 🙌 #startup #bluelion #achievements #fundingnews #klimup #community #zurich

SBIRs: More Than a Grant, They’re a Catalyst I often hear SBIRs referred to as the gold standard of funding for healthcare tech startups. And, the funding is very valuable for seed stages. I have benefitted from this approach with my own start up (Joyuus). SBIRs provide generous non-dilutive funds without early pressure from venture capital, while ideas are still being developed. But the true value of an SBIR goes far beyond the dollars - for founders and investors. Certain SBIRs requirements are intentionally complex. And they should be. Because the grant format forces founders through a rigor not many grants require. By doing so these grants help founders develop something powerful beyond the potential for funding - SBIRs force founders to dissect, test, and understand their business in a way that is critical to long-term success. This long term perspective creates more value, more understanding, and more stewardship for the money SBIRs provide. Working with SBIR funding for over two decades, I have distilled the fundamental value into four core elements that every healthcare tech founder—and every investor—needs to consider. #fundamentals #womenshealth #femtech
