Stripe reposted this

We just announced Stripe Scripts—one of the most powerful primitives we’ve ever shipped. Starting today: write custom discounting logic in Billing. Coming soon: customize proration, invoicing, even parts of Stripe beyond Billing. With just a few lines of code, you can now change how Stripe works. We’ll host and run *your* code for you. Stripe just got a lot more programmable.

Cool! What are you using to run the scripts themselves?

No response from customer services via email - you have now held my money for more than the 120 days - but now won’t release it this is causing issues all round! Breaching your financial regulations by stealing customers money but also acting very unethical way it’s damaging my business.

This is an exciting development that will undoubtedly empower businesses to implement tailored discounting logic and enhance their billing processes. The ability to customize proration and invoicing, along with the potential for further integration across Stripe, opens up a world of possibilities for developers and businesses alike. I'm looking forward to seeing how this feature will enable more innovative solutions and streamline operations. Well done, Stripe team!

Congrats!!! one big helper for us would be to have the on "invoice paid" webhook be able to have a programmable endpoint URL depending on the billing country, so we can send all EU/GDPR webhook events to our EU servers, for example

Love the flexibility here. Business processes don't always fit into a cookie-cutter box, so it's great to see Stripe acknowledging this reality and giving its customers freedom to customize logic. Curious to see how customers will utilize this going forward.

This is great but can you simply add custom per country pricing UI into your console? We as customers don't want to program shit and are often small business owners who don't know how 💖

One more place to debug! Adding more valves and buttons increases complexity. How is Stripe /Stripe managing this?

Whoa…that’s crazy simple. Great extensibility story!!

Can’t wait to use it on our new website! So proud that my classmate is powering these innovations!
