𝐌𝐘 𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒 𝐀𝐑𝐄 𝐋𝐄𝐆𝐄𝐍𝐃𝐒 𝐆𝐀𝐓𝐄 & 𝐃𝐒𝐀 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 2013-14 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝐚 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞-𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐦𝐞! As a young teacher just passed out from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, CSE Department, I walked into a classroom filled with students from all states of India. In a few classes only I got to know this class room is full of talented students; they were always ready with their questions & challenging me to prove almost every concept & problem. 𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐈 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐤𝐞 𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐭𝐬; 𝐚 𝐟𝐞𝐰 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐈 𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐧'𝐭 𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐛𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐝𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐭𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐈 𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬/𝐰𝐞𝐛𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐬/𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐟𝐬, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐬𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐚 𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐦𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐬 𝐚 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫 & 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐄𝐝𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡 ExamPrepTool. 𝐌𝐲 𝐤𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐝𝐠𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐰 𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 10 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚. Despite many challenges, proofs, questions, arguments and fun, I'm proud of that batch, and every time I see them, my heart fills with joy & satisfaction. Those students were unstoppable! They'd been waiting before the class, after the class, at the classroom gate, and the staff room gate, ready with questions, proofs, and even big sketches on classroom boards. 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐬𝐦 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐛𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐞𝐱𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐱𝐡𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐬? 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝-𝐛𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠! 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐀𝐓𝐄 𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐨𝐮𝐭, 𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐧'𝐭 𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 – 𝐈'𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐛𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐧𝐥𝐲. 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨𝐩 𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐬 – 1𝐬𝐭, 2𝐧𝐝, 3𝐫𝐝, 4𝐭𝐡, 8𝐭𝐡, 10𝐭𝐡, 12𝐭𝐡, 18𝐭𝐡, 21𝐬𝐭, 36𝐭𝐡, 48𝐭𝐡... 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐠𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧! 𝐒𝐞𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐲 𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐟𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠. I'm with pride knowing they've gone on to excel in top companies like Microsoft, Google, Meta, Amazon, Uber, PhD, UPSC, PSU's & a few of them in entrepreneurship by leaving MAANG companies. I'm humbled by their talent and accomplishments. From that year my students topped GATE & DSA almost every year & every time In current batches many students are equally talented as previous batches.
