H2opper goes to Hamburg! Visit us at the Hydrogen Technology World Expo. https://lnkd.in/grzGRNv How innovation and value creation leads to a robust regional hydrogen hub design. Hydrogen is one of the keys to the energy and feedstock transition. However, currently there is a bit of a ‘chicken and egg’ situation where hydrogen production and offtake is not yet fully aligned. H2opper aims to design a comprehensive regional hub that optimizes trade and transport of green hydrogen supply and demand for sustainable growth. The region in question is Delfzijl in the north of the Netherlands. H2opper designs the market model and trading processes as well as the necessary transport facility for the cluster. It showcases how local and regional suppliers and local off takers can overcome lock-ins, roadblocks and seemingly insurmountable hurdles to deployment. The project creates value for all the individual parties, where joint engagement in an innovative hub design process maximises the potential commercial attractiveness and performance. The project offers valuable generic design insights for all other regions and industrial clusters as they prepare for a hydrogen ecosystem. In this workshop we will explore the value that the hub development process brings for all parties in Delfzijl. We will show how a multi-lens perspective bring the comprehensive scope to logical design choices and enable participants to each play a targeted role in the hub. We will discuss how subsequent design and value proposition choices are essential to create smooth commercial, technical and operational development paths that enable innovative business models for all participating actors. #Hydrogen #HydrogenTechnologyWorldExpo #Delfzijl #Hamburg #EnergyTransition

With the new push barge “Rhenus Berlin I”, we are sending a strong signal for sustainable inland waterway transport. The 100-meter-long ship has a customized cargo hold for rotor blades up to 86 meters, whereby the cargo space is also sufficient for future generations of rotor blades with lengths of up to 88 meters and is powered by HVO100 biofuel. The “Rhenus Berlin I” thus combines efficiency and resource conservation – exactly what we need for the energy transition. It will soon begin operating in the northern German canal network, where it will transport rotor blades exclusively for our customer ENERCON to project sites. A great example of how technical innovation and cooperation are shaping the future of logistics – with more barges in a similar design already in planning. #Rhenus #Logistics #TogetherWithPassion #Port #SustainableShipping #Energy Rhenus Logistics

Stegra’s €975 Million Funding Push: Powering the Next Phase of Europe’s Green Steel Revolution 🌱 Swedish green steel innovator Stegra (formerly H2 Green Steel) has announced plans to raise up to €975 million ($1.1 billion) in new funding to complete its hydrogen-based steel plant in Boden, northern Sweden. The additional capital aims to offset higher project costs and replace state grants that didn’t materialize — a reminder of the financial resilience required to scale low-carbon steelmaking. Having already secured €6.5 billion last year, Stegra is now reinforcing its financial position with strong backing from its founders and lead investors. The company’s hydrogen-powered production model, driven by renewable electricity, represents one of the most advanced commercial pathways toward carbon-neutral steel. As the global steel sector faces increasing decarbonization pressures under frameworks like CBAM and Net Zero 2050, Stegra’s project is a clear signal: ➡️ Green steel is moving from concept to industrial reality. This development not only underscores Europe’s leadership in clean steel innovation, but also sets the tone for how private capital, technology, and sustainability can converge to redefine one of the world’s most carbon-intensive industries. 🔗 #GreenSteel #HydrogenEconomy #Stegra #SustainableManufacturing #Decarbonization #CBAM #SteelIndustry #CleanEnergy #NetZero #RenewableHydrogen #CircularEconomy #EuropeInnovation

Gasum and shipping company WALLENIUS SOL have signed a co-operation agreement whereby Wallenius Sol’s dual fuel vessels join Gasum’s FuelEU Maritime pool as compliance generators. The vessels will generate compliance surplus for the benefit of other vessels by running on bio-LNG. 🚢🌱 Wallenius Sol operates regular scheduled services between several ports in northern Finland and Sweden, Germany, the Benelux region and the United Kingdom. 🌍 The company’s vessels handle trailers, containers and project cargo, for example, for the paper and steel industries. Wallenius Sol’s customers are now able to enjoy low emission transports for their goods because of the FuelEU Maritime co-operation with Gasum. 🗨️ “We are very excited that Wallenius Sol has decided to join our FuelEU Maritime pool, as this collaboration enables us to open even more regulation surplus to shipowners at this pivotal point. The window for securing compliance for 2025 is closing rapidly and the available capacity may run out before the year end. Pooling is a brilliant and easy opportunity for all maritime actors to join forces in lowering emissions from the industry together”, says Jacob Granqvist, Vice President, Maritime, Gasum 🗨️ “We aim to be the natural partner for sustainable sea logistics in the Gulf of Bothnia and across the European continent. Together with Gasum, we are scaling the use of renewable gases at sea. Switching to bio-LNG for our Enabler-class vessels is clear proof that our Roadmap is delivering – and that we are investing in our customers’ climate goals while accelerating the green transition across the Nordics”, says Rebecca Tagaeus, Chief Sustainability Officer at Wallenius Sol. 🔗 Read more: https://lnkd.in/dgJgXC-k #Gasum #WalleniusSol #Pooling #FuelEU #sustainableshipping
