Sam Altman basically admiting that their grand new plan to establish a working business is building sexbots. Which is so cliche but also so fucking desperate. Nerds were a mistake.
the juxtaposition of him talking about making the planet-melting text extruder robot "respond in a very human-like way" while he has a profile picture rendered in the style of STUDIO GHIBLI (!!!) is making my brain short circuit
"Nerds were a mistake." Hard disagree. Nerds like you (and, hopefully: me) are the reason anything in tech works at all. Caricatures of nerds* are the problem you're hinting at. * Yes, I hate The Big Bang Theory.
Porn will help the 500+ Billion USD invested, for sure
"not all nerds", sigh, when money took over nerd culture, it started to mutate into this clusterfuck these valley boys are representing now. Not my nerds!
I mean, unlimited power for grapist nerds was a mistake, fer sher. https://www.newsweek.com/sam-altman-openai-sister-annie-sexual-abuse-allegation-lawsuit-missouri-federal-court-2011468
"Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues" Ohh? That's news to me when I keep seeing social media delusions caused by that cursed tool quite often and plenty of stories of people getting emotionally destroyed by it. Sounds to me like the accountability risk wasn't big enough to justify keeping any safety features.
From what I’ve been reading, they have NOT sufficiently made GPTs safe for mental well-being.
Again - if it weren’t all so serious, it‘d be really funny.
