Pfizer in Action: Championing Women’s Health and Closing the Gap Last week, I was honored to welcome the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association (HBA) Board of Directors to Pfizer’s New York Headquarters. I always appreciate coming together with fellow leaders across the healthcare industry, and this meeting was especially insightful as we joined forces to thoughtfully plan for a stronger, more impactful HBA in 2026 for all members. Our collaborative discussions reinforced how our collective actions can meaningfully advance and amplify the impact of women in the business of healthcare, ultimately helping to create healthcare leaders for life. Following our board meeting, I joined HBA CEO Mary Stutts, and fellow board member Wendy Bartie (Senior VP, Bristol Myers Squibb) at the The Female Quotient Quotient’s inaugural Health Summit in the FQ Lounge during #AWNewYork25 for a panel discussion on “Closing the Health Gap.” Our conversation centered on the critical need to increase women’s representation in healthcare—especially in clinical trials, where women’s participation remains below 40%. We explored strategies to break down barriers like geographic access, language, cost, and mistrust, advocating for more inclusive, equitable research. At Pfizer, we’re tackling these challenges by making trials more accessible, translating materials, and partnering with community organizations. We’re committed to tracking and improving women’s participation in clinical research to help advance health equity for all. Our next topic on the FQ panel addressed the new opportunities emerging from technological innovation and changing workplace culture. I’m proud that Pfizer is leading with AI-powered platforms like Health Answers and This Is Living With Cancer™, which provide all with trusted resources tailored to their individual health journeys. To serve all, it’s essential that these AI models are trained on diverse data reflecting the broad spectrum of female experiences. The energy and collaboration at both the HBA Board Meeting and FQ Health Summit reaffirmed my belief in the power of collective action and purpose-driven solutions. By working together across organizations and sectors, we can drive meaningful change and make women’s health a global priority. I am grateful to partner with so many dedicated advocates and innovators as we continue this journey toward true health equity and stronger communities as a result.
