Nobody is safe until everyone is safe. And at MAIRE, I’m happy to say we do not take that lightly. We celebrated this year’s World Day for Safety and Health at Work with our own MAIRE Safety Day: a truly inspiring moment of connection across continents, time zones and job roles. It was our chance to reflect, share, and most of all, listen. From Rome to Mumbai, Paradeep to Hail & Ghasha, I watched our extraordinary teams show up with ideas, energy, and a shared belief: safety is everyone’s job. We celebrated progress - a TRIR reduced by 34% over the past year, more than 4.1 million hours of training delivered, and we’ve reduced our direct CO₂ emissions Scope 1 and 2 by 37% compared to our 2018 baseline.  But we also reminded ourselves that this journey is ongoing. The real power of safety lies in the daily commitment, the constant improvement, the tough questions, and yes, even the occasional friendly disagreement about the best PPE on site.  We also looked ahead - to the role of AI, data, and digitalization in creating safer workplaces. Because innovation isn't just about efficiency. It's about saving lives and making sure every colleague, on every shift, goes home safe. Even Eugenio the “dog” on site knows that rule! A heartfelt thank you to every single person who took part in our MAIRE Safety Day 2025, whether you joined us on screen, in person, or from one of our many global sites. Your passion, your professionalism and your pride in doing things right really make me proud. And thank you, truly, to everyone who waves the flag for safety every single day. From every corner of our MAIRE family, colleagues, partners, clients: you are the threads that weave our safety net. A net strong enough to catch each other when it matters most, and wide enough to hold us all. That’s what collaboration looks like. That’s what care feels like.  Because safety isn’t a number.
