A great event from Product London this week, hosted at Skyscanner. My takeaways from three great speakers… 💡 Magali Pelissier highlighted how moving into management is essentially a career change. You trade solving complex problems and thinking big for an entirely different role - leading people. An important consideration if staying close to products and problem-solving is actually where your heart lies. 💡 Evie Brockwell shared a sobering stat, 92% of product people experience burnout. She talked about building new patterns and shifting out of our primitive brain and staying in the intellectual one to create a healthier work-life balance. 💡 Dr. Kam Star reminded us why, in an increasingly AI-driven world, humans still matter most. Let AI do the heavy lifting, but insight lives in us in real conversations, layered understanding, unexpected connections and lived stories. People remember stories. Big thanks to the speakers, Alex Scriven & the team and Skyscanner for a brilliant evening and great conversations. #ProductLondon #ProductManagement #Burnout #AI #Storytelling

💡 When Work Feels Lighter (Thanks to a Little AI Fun) Some days at work can feel endless, but lately, I’ve found a smart way to keep the team energized — mixing a little AI magic with a lot of human fun. The results? Smarter work, louder laughter, and better teamwork. Here’s how it’s going 👇 Being a Facility Manager isn’t always easy — there’s always something to fix, inspect, or improve. But I’ve learned that the best results come when the team feels motivated and connected. So instead of using AI just for reports and data, I started introducing it to my team in small, playful ways — and honestly, it’s been a game changer. Here’s what it looks like behind the scenes: 🤖 AI Challenge Fridays – We let AI come up with funny slogans about our daily hustle or even imagine what our facility would look like in 2050. The results? Absolutely hilarious. 🎨 AI Team Wall – We turned our photos into superhero and cartoon versions. It’s now a tradition: every new team member gets “AI-fied” before officially joining the squad. 🧩 Quick Brain Breaks – During downtime, we ask AI random questions like, “Which superhero would best handle a power outage?” or “Describe our team as a movie cast.” The laughter is always worth it. 💡 Idea Hour – Sometimes, we ask AI for creative ways to save energy or improve workflow. You’d be surprised how many of those ideas actually work! I’ve come to realize that AI isn’t here to replace us — it’s here to make us better. It helps us think faster, plan smarter, and yes, even have a little fun while doing it. At the end of the day, the smartest team is a mix of human heart and AI brain — balanced, curious, and unstoppable. I’m curious — how are you or your team using AI at work? Drop your ideas or fun experiences below 👇 Let’s learn (and laugh) from each other. #FacilityManagement #Leadership #AIInTheWorkplace #SmartTeam #Innovation #WorkCulture #FacilityManager #AIDrivenLeadership

One thing I’ve realised as a founder, culture is not only built in boardrooms, strategy decks, or formal reviews. It’s often created in those small, unexpected moments that don’t look like “work” at all. Last week, our team logged into a call and someone suggested using fun AI filters, suddenly we had astronauts, superheroes, and even robots on the screen. Each person had to say one line in character. It was lighthearted. It was silly. And it was powerful. Because that laughter did something important- → It recharged our energy → It reminded us that creativity doesn’t come from pressure alone → It showed us how play can spark collaboration In AI, we’re always pushing for innovation. But innovation thrives in an environment where people feel connected, safe to express, and free to experiment. These moments may look small from the outside, but they shape how people show up the next day. They build trust, fuel teamwork, and open the door to better problem-solving. As leaders, we often forget: sometimes it’s the moments that don’t look like work that actually change the way we work. #AI #Leadership #Culture #Teamwork #Innovation #Collaboration #WorkplaceEnergy #Macwisecapital

Would you believe AI can boost happiness at work? It’s more intertwined than you'd think! Imagine stepping into work each day, not bogged down by routine tasks but invigorated by the space to innovate and collaborate. 🔹 Storytelling Moment: Sarah from IT once felt like she was drowning in service tickets. She turned to AI-driven automation, and now? Fewer mundane tasks mean more time for team bonding and big-picture projects. 🔹 Real-world Analogies: Think of AI as the invisible player on the field—the one who sets up the goals so you can score. When routine is off your plate, creativity and happiness flourish. 🔹 Practical Insights: 1. Map out Stress Points: Identify tasks that drain your team's energy and bring them down. 2. Select AI Tools: Deploy tools like Asana or Automate.io to streamline these drainers. 🔹 Implementation Steps: - Have a brainstorming session to find out what tasks everyone dreads. - Trial run an AI solution for a month, noting changes in morale and efficiency. - Reflect and iterate—the goal is continuous improvement. AI is more than just tech; it’s a partner in crafting a happier work environment. It’s not that you don’t understand the “future of work.” It’s that it hasn’t been contextualized properly. If I explained it through the lens of hip hop’s “big three”—Drake, Kendrick, and J. Cole—it might click instantly. 🔹 Technology & AI = Drake – Flashy, omnipresent, the machine’s artist. AI and automation dominate the stage, but when the soul is missing, it can feel hollow. 🔹 Well-being = Kendrick Lamar – Grounded, purposeful, collective. Focused on the deeper systems—belonging, balance, dignity. 🔹 Capabilities & Lifelong Learning = J. Cole – Steady, underrated, essential. Not about hype, but about craft, adaptability, and resilience. Individually, these forces are powerful. At times, they’re even at odds—Drake vs. Kendrick (technology vs. human-centered design), or Cole quietly building in the background. But together, they shape the tracklist of the workplace to come. The future of work isn’t just jargon. It’s spectacle, soul, and skill—sometimes in harmony, sometimes in tension, always in motion. Does this framing make the future of work clearer to you? For me, the goal isn’t just clarity—it’s connection. Because when we can see how technology, well-being, and capabilities intersect, we’re better equipped to design workplaces that work for us, not against us. Hope this connects ✌🏾 If this is your first time catching one of these, The Quiet Part is a series I’ve been building to make big ideas about work and systems more relatable. You can check out the earlier capsules on my page for more context. Would love to hear what resonates with you. #FutureOfWork #TheQuietPart #SystemsThinking #WorkplaceWellbeing #LifelongLearning #Creator

🤔 Can technology bridge efficiency but widen emotional gaps? In chasing productivity with AI, are we losing the human touch at work? This paradox intrigues me. Let me share a story with you. Meet Sarah, a project manager thriving in a tech-savvy environment. When her company adopted AI tools for efficiency, she initially celebrated. Her days became more structured. Meetings were efficiently scheduled, email responses were swifter, and data insights were at her fingertips. But something irked her. The emotional barcode, the camaraderie she cherished, started fading. Has efficiency cost us our connections? This awareness prompted Sarah to try two simple adjustments: 1. Interactive Check-Ins She introduced regular virtual coffee sessions. AI handled scheduling, but these moments reconnected the team, nurturing their interpersonal bonds. 2. Human-Driven Insights Despite data-driven decisions, she emphasized human intuition in her project analysis. This balanced AI insights with team creativity. The result was profound. Her team embraced tech without sacrificing personal connections. Here are quick steps to keep the emotional pulse strong: • Schedule dedicated time for personal interaction. • Blend AI insights with instinct-driven decisions. • Organize team activities that foster unity. • Encourage open feedback on the impact of automation. Ultimately, technology should evolve without eroding our emotional foundation. How do you maintain balance between tech and human connection at work? #Automation #AI #WorklifeBalance #EmotionalIntelligence #Leadership

The most interesting thing I learned at the Fast Company Innovation festival? How many companies are doing "AI Fridays". From Duolingo to Wayfair and PepsiCo, it was interesting to see how digital natives and legacy companies are dedicating "AI Experimentation Days" for their teams. Instead of traditional project work, employees spend this time exploring AI tools, testing new workflows, and discovering creative applications for their roles and challenges. The results? Companies are seeing: • Increased employee engagement and curiosity • Process optimization possibilities • Cross-departmental collaboration • A culture that embraces change rather than fears it This reminds me of the time I launched Start In for AXA during the Digital Transformation and Innovation wave a few years ago. I called it the American Idol of ideation and it was really a time for team members to get involved. More importantly, this was about affecting a culture shift, helping people embrace potentially fearsome technology. These "Frid-AI-ys" aren't just about productivity gains—they're about empowering people to become active participants in technological transformation rather than passive recipients. It's a reminder that the companies thriving in the AI era won't just be those with the best technology, but those that create space for human creativity and experimentation to flourish alongside it. Has your organization implemented dedicated time for AI exploration? Tell me more about your experiences in the comments! #AI #Innovation #FutureOfWork #Leadership #DigitalTransformation #FCfestival

🌱 Tech Transforms Fast. People Change in Seasons. Every week, AI gets smarter. Every month, apps refresh their icons and interfaces. The pace of technology feels relentless. But people? We don’t update like machines. We adapt through seasons. Psychology tells us habits form in cycles— not overnight, not at the speed of code. Social life still moves in rhythms: new quarters at work, back-to-school phases, summer lulls, festive resets. Culture itself has always turned with cycles— harvest festivals, solstices, rituals that align with nature’s timing. 🔑 The tension is real: • Tech runs on sprints. • Humans live in seasons. The question for leaders, designers, and innovators is simple: 👉 How do we build systems that honor both speeds? Because real innovation isn’t just about faster tech. It’s about tech that moves with people, not against them. #AI #ArtificialIntelligence #AITech #FutureOfWork #WorkplaceCulture #Psychology #BehavioralScience #DigitalTransformation #ChangeManagement #Leadership #Culture #CulturalIntelligence #Innovation #Technology #HumanCenteredDesign #DesignThinking #TechForGood #MindfulTech #TechCulture #WorkLifeBalance #Habits #Productivity #LearningAndDevelopment #DigitalCulture #PeopleFirst #SmartTech #WorkplaceInnovation #TechAndSociety #HumanBehavior #Balance
