This week, Hertfordshire Police saw the culmination of a project to train super recognizers within their force. After initial contact and an offer of assistance, a collaborative effort led to a systematic approach for identifying and utilizing officers with exceptional facial recognition abilities. By implementing a structured image review process and providing specialized training, the police force has significantly enhanced its identification capabilities, demonstrating the power of targeted training and optimized resource allocation. #superrecognizers #lawenforcement #facialrecognition #police #training #innovation

I really appreciate #Europol 's “Look Beyond” campaign for highlighting the stereotypes surrounding human trafficking. Victims don’t always look like what we expect. At the Dutch Police, we developed a training within our Professional Policing module (“Professioneel Controleren”) to help officers detect indicators of human trafficking and challenge their own assumptions. This is crucial, as even experienced officers can fall prey to these stereotypes, something we regularly observe during our trainings. That’s why continuous training and awareness are key. By looking beyond the stereotype, we can identify more victims and stop more offenders. We look forward to continuing our cooperation with Europol and CEPOL to share our insights and training methods across Europe and beyond. 👉 Read more: https://lnkd.in/ezEKs2xC #Police #HumanTrafficking #LookBeyond #Training #Europol #CEPOL

The police recruiting "bucket" is leaking due to attrition, while the "faucet" tightens and the job scope expands. Police leaders must implement a paradigm shift in strategy to stabilize staffing. Eurojust and INTERPOL continue to set the standard for effective international cooperation against cross-border crime. Through aligned strategies and practical support, they ensure law enforcement and judicial authorities can pursue justice beyond national boundaries. Their partnership is a strong example of how coordinated global action strengthens security and the rule of law.
Another great conversation with Eurojust President Michael Schmid, this time at INTERPOL. As the EU agency that helps coordinate national judicial authorities, Eurojust plays an important role in tackling cross-border crime, while INTERPOL provides the tools and support that make police and judicial cooperation possible. Together, we’re keeping law enforcement and prosecution closely aligned to make sure criminals can’t escape justice across borders.

Despite the best intentions, vital information about vulnerable people often sits in disconnected systems. In partnership with a Northern police force and a ministerial department we successfully tested a secure, scalable solution for multi-agency data sharing – proving it’s not only possible, but practical and ready for use. This case study shows how joined-up data can support earlier and more informed decisions, helping protect citizens and strengthen public safety. https://lnkd.in/eNERcSVe #DigitalTransformation #BetterOutcomes #DataSharing #MultiAgencyWorking #Safeguarding #Police #HomeOffice
