Good food shouldn’t be getting harder to afford. 🍎 As food prices climb more than 27% in five years, it’s clear Canada’s food system needs more than patchwork fixes — it needs transformation. Here’s what stood out to me in an article from Firat E, CEO of Bunz Inc., on building an affordable, sustainable food system: - We must redefine productivity — not by how much we produce, but how efficiently, sustainably, and fairly we do it. - Agri-tech innovation can help farmers cut waste, boost yields, and stabilize prices. - Infrastructure investments—from irrigation and energy to digital access—are essential to scale this transformation. - A stronger food system means more resilient communities, better jobs, and healthier futures. If we can’t make sustainable food affordable, how sustainable is it really?
