🚁🌍 2035: A World Without Cars – The Era of Vertiports & Safe Transportation..
Imagine waking up in 2035. 🚙 The sound of car engines, traffic jams, and honking horns are things of the past. Roads once filled with vehicles are now greener, quieter, and safer. Why? Because vertiports and advanced aerial mobility (AAM) have replaced cars as the primary mode of urban transport.
🔹 The Rise of Vertiports
By 2035, cities across the globe are seamlessly connected by vertiports—dedicated hubs for electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. These stations aren’t just futuristic airports; they are mobility ecosystems, designed to ensure quick, safe, and sustainable journeys across cities and regions.
🔹 Safety as the New Standard
With AI-powered navigation, collision-avoidance systems, and robust regulatory frameworks, air mobility has surpassed the safety standards once expected of cars. The era of road accidents, traffic fatalities, and long commutes has ended.
🔹 A Sustainable Future
Electric propulsion and renewable energy integration mean that transportation is no longer a burden on the environment. Cities have reclaimed road space for green parks, cycling tracks, and community hubs. Safety + Sustainability = Progress.
🔹 Life Without Cars
No congestion. No emissions. No wasted hours in traffic. Instead, we step into a vertiport, board an eVTOL, and glide silently to our destination in minutes. Accessibility has become the new currency of transport.
👉 The question is not if this will happen, but when. The trajectory of innovation, investment, and policy already points toward a post-car future.
By 2035, the car will be a relic of the past, remembered only in museums and history books. The world will belong to vertiports and safe, sustainable mobility. 🚀
Are we ready for this shift?

🤖✈️ In Halifax, Robots Take Over… to Guide Passengers!
At Halifax Stanfield International Airport, two robots have been deployed to assist passengers throughout their journey. In the pre-security and arrivals areas, they provide information on flights, weather, and available services - and can even physically guide travelers to their destinations.
If a passenger needs to go beyond the robot’s coverage, it offers a static map for guidance. An innovative way to combine human assistance and technology, making travel smoother and simpler.
These robots do not replace humans: they are deployed during peak periods or when staffing is limited, such as at night, to continue guiding passengers efficiently.
At VIMPACI, we see this initiative as a concrete example of how technology can anticipate traveler needs, enhance the passenger experience, and support airport teams during high-traffic periods.
🌍 The future of travel is already here: intelligent, interactive, and personalized.

The Sky Commute: How Urban Air Mobility is Redefining City Travelo
Urban Air Mobility (UAM) promises to transform our city skylines and daily commutes. Envisioned as a network of small, electric, autonomous aircraft, UAM aims to alleviate ground traffic by taking transportation to the third dimension—the air. These electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) vehicles, commonly called "flying taxis," are designed for short hops across congested metropolitan areas. They operate like aerial ridesharing services, with passengers booking a seat through a smartphone app for a fraction of the time of a ground-based journey. Major companies like Joby Aviation, Archer, and Volocopter are leading the charge, with prototypes already conducting test flights. The realization of UAM hinges on more than just the vehicles. It requires the development of a comprehensive ecosystem, including "vertiports" for takeoff and landing, sophisticated air traffic management systems to safely coordinate dense low-altitude flights, and crucial public acceptance and regulatory frameworks. While challenges remain, UAM represents a bold leap towards a faster, cleaner, and three-dimensional future for urban transit#usmanshaikh#usmanwrites#usm

The recap video from our last SAAM Day at Zurich Airport is out!
Our members had the unique chance to go behind the scenes and discover the pioneering Autonomous Shuttle Project at Zurich Airport Ltd, developed with Krummen Kerzers AG, Swissport and WeRide.
This pilot is testing Level 4 autonomous shuttles, aiming to make Zurich the first airport in Europe certified at this level. A real milestone for mobility and aviation.
The visit was not only exciting, it showed how far the movement has come, and how much momentum is building within our community.

The Rise of "E-VTOL" Air Taxis
Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft quiet, emission-free electric air taxis designed for urban transport.
The Goal: To revolutionize city travel by enabling fast, affordable aerial routes (e.g., airport to downtown in minutes), drastically cutting ground traffic congestion.
The Hurdles: Limited battery range and durability, managing low-altitude urban airspace, public skepticism around safety and noise, and developing "vertiport" landing infrastructure.
Major Players: Joby Aviation, Archer, Beta Technologies, and automotive giants like Hyundai and Toyota investing heavily in the technology.
New tech is emerging in U.S. airports, and it is already being piloted in live environments.
Seattle–Tacoma International Airport is teaming up with Carteav to bring self-driving vehicles into airport transit. The partnership will make it easier for travelers to get around while showing how airports across the country can use this technology to improve operations and passenger experience.

Flying Cars & Air Taxis: How Close Are We Really?
For decades, “flying cars” have felt like science fiction. But today, prototypes of air taxis and urban air mobility vehicles are taking shape, promising to change how we move within and between cities.
The vision is exciting:
1. Shorter commutes over traffic-heavy cities
2. Electric-powered flights that reduce emissions
3. On-demand air taxis for business, emergency, or leisure
But the reality? Aviation reminds us that innovation must meet safety. Before air taxis become everyday transport, challenges remain:
1. Battery efficiency and range limitations
2. Infrastructure (vertiports, charging, integration into airspace)
3. Regulations and certification standards
4. Training and public acceptance
We may be closer than we think but mass adoption will depend on balancing innovation with the safety culture aviation is built on.
Do you believe flying cars will become mainstream in our lifetime?
