Today, we come together to celebrate generosity and the power of community. At the True North Foundation, we are on a mission to support veterans, military families, and nonprofit organizations that make a lasting impact across the country. Every year, over 200,000 service members transition to civilian life, often facing challenges like finding purpose, employment, and community. Through our four pillars—education, employment, adaptive sports, and rehabilitation—we work tirelessly to bridge these gaps and empower our nation’s heroes. Your donation today directly supports: ✅ Scholarships for military children through partners like the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation. ✅ Transitional support for veterans and military spouses through organizations like Dog Tag Inc. ✅ Adaptive sports programs and rehabilitation services for injured veterans, such as those provided by Stay In Step and Merging Vets and Players. When you give to the True North Foundation, you’re not just donating—you’re investing in the futures of those who have served. Together, we can ensure veterans and their families thrive beyond their time in uniform. 💙 Donate Today: https://lnkd.in/g74jC6gm #GivingTuesday #VeteranSupport #Nonprofit #MakeADifference #TrueNorthFoundation #LeadingByDoing #Donate #SupportOurHeroes

I’ve had the unique privilege of seeing Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) from both sides of the table as a tool for smart financial planning and as a powerful vehicle for lasting impact. What is a DAF? A Donor-Advised Fund is a charitable giving account that allows donors to make a charitable contribution, receive an immediate tax deduction, and then recommend grants over time. It’s simple, flexible, and tax-efficient especially for those with appreciated assets or fluctuating income years. If you already have a DAF, consider recommending a grant today. If you're advising clients with philanthropic goals, DAFs are a strategic way to align values with financial planning. When thoughtful planning meets meaningful causes, everyone wins. #DAFday #MarineCorpsScholarshipFoundation #MCSF #philanthropicgoals #smartgiving
We're ONE WEEK from DAF Day, a single day dedicated to Donor Advised Fund giving and inspiring generosity. On October 9, your DAF can fuel The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation's mission by setting up a giving account that lets you donate assets with an immediate tax deduction. Simplify your gift to MCSF by participating in DAF day and maximize your generosity to help us Honor Marines by Educating Their Children! Save the date and learn how to give: bit.ly/MCSF-DAFDAY

Today, on #WorldCraftDay, we’re proud to highlight our ongoing partnership with Heritage Crafts, which is helping former soldiers build fulfilling new careers through traditional craft skills. For the past three years, our charity has awarded £13,800 annually to fund three bursaries each year, supporting a total of nine veterans to train in specialist crafts — from blacksmithing and carpentry to leatherwork and beyond. These bursaries not only preserve centuries-old British craftsmanship but also give veterans the opportunity to rediscover purpose, confidence, and connection through creative work. We’re proud to stand behind this partnership and the talented veterans shaping their next chapter through heritage skills. #ForSoldiersForLife #HeritageCrafts #Veterans #Craftsmanship

Barratt Redrow - Finalist for the Working Together Award, in partnership with Forces in Mind Trust - has shown exceptional and lasting dedication to the military community through a powerful partnership with Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI)). Since signing the Armed Forces Covenant in 2016, the organisation has gone far beyond its pledge, donating over £850,000 to the charity, becoming a founding patron of the Tommy Club to tackle veteran isolation, and directly supporting the employment of more than 200 veterans and reservists. From sourcing emergency construction supplies to keep vital veteran housing projects moving, to purchasing veteran-made products from Britain's Bravest Manufacturing Company, Barratt Redrow's support is holistic, heartfelt, and hands-on. They lead by example, sleeping out in sub-zero temperatures to raise over £200k for homeless veterans. Defence Forces charity launches €3.5m housing expansion to support homeless veterans By Sean O’Riordan / Irish Examiner The Defence Forces veterans’ charity Óglaigh Náisiúnta na hÉireann/Organisation of National Ex-Service Personnel (ONE) has launched a fundraising campaign to support its largest-ever investment in emergency accommodation, a €3.5m project to help homeless veterans with new facilities in Cork, Limerick, and Newbridge. Its Fuchsia Appeal aims to raise €500,000 for the Veteran Home Expansion Plan (VHEP), which will add 18 new single en-suite bedrooms across the three cities. The expansion will bring the total number of bedrooms for homeless veterans to 69 nationwide, with a further 11 planned by 2028 as part of a third phase. The project nearly doubles the charity’s accommodation capacity in just seven years. Since opening its first home in 1994, One has helped more than 1,100 homeless veterans access emergency accommodation, with over 90% moving on to permanent housing. In addition to capital costs, the charity’s operational costs currently total €1.7m, with around €775,000 provided by the State. The Fuchsia Appeal is crucial to closing the remaining funding gap.
