The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s Post

At Saturday's graduation, Chancellor Lee H. Roberts invited #UNC25 to think back to their first days on campus, how new and bewildering it all felt. “For as long as this University has existed, the trees here have stood as a reminder of the strength, patience and deep-rooted community that only the nation’s first public university could nurture,” Roberts said. “Now, you are taking the next step. Your future, like the branches of the trees on our campus, is reaching outward and upward, stretching toward new ideas, communities and fields.”

Thank you, UNC Chapel Hill, for an unforgettable experience. My student learned the real value of hard work and dedication. He set ambitious goals—and achieved every single one. Earning a degree from such a prestigious university, with no shortage of major distractions, is no small feat, and we couldn’t be prouder. And the fireworks… WOW. UNC knows how to celebrate. Congratulations to all the graduates—what a remarkable achievement. Well done, Tar Heels! 💙🎓🎉

Well said! Thank you for your leadership Lee!
