The European construction industry faces a critical knowledge gap 82% of German construction companies lack the necessary knowledge to unlock digitalisation's potential. Yet digitalisation serves as a crucial lever for sustainability, and it's urgently needed, as the numbers reveal: buildings account for 40% of energy use in the EU. Building Information Modelling (BIM) can play a decisive role here. BIM doesn't just make planning, construction, and building maintenance more efficient, it also makes them more resource-efficient. Nevertheless, nearly half of European public organisations have still not implemented their BIM strategy. In Germany, only one in every ten surveyed construction companies actually uses BIM, despite two-thirds recognising its potential as very high or quite high. This is where Viega steps in as an enabler: as an industry innovation leader, we don't just advance technical solutions, we build knowledge and expertise. Our Viega World seminar centre demonstrates how digital construction works as a real-world best practice example, having been built using BIM itself🏗️ But also through comprehensive training programmes for apprentices and skilled workers, partnerships with universities and vocational schools, we're not only developing the BIM skills that are desperately needed, but we’re also strengthening the digital competence of the entire construction industry. The future requires more than strategies: it demands implementation. #viega #bim #digitalization

The UK BIM Framework is reshaping how the construction industry collaborates, builds, and delivers projects — setting a global benchmark for digital efficiency and integration. By unifying standards, tools, and data-driven workflows, it enables seamless coordination, cost control, and improved sustainability across all project phases — from design to operation. Through ISO 19650 standards, clear processes, and enhanced collaboration, the framework ensures that every stakeholder works smarter and more efficiently. With BIM at its core, the UK is leading the way toward a connected, transparent, and future-ready construction ecosystem. . . Partner with us to build better: www.techture.global . Across the industry, BIM remains a game-changer. In Canada, demand for housing is pushing construction timelines harder than ever, and the ability to collaborate in real time, spot conflicts before they happen, and streamline material sourcing makes all the difference. We’ve seen how BIM has transformed our projects in Waterloo, enabling us to deliver rental communities faster, with precision, and with more sustainable practices. As construction technology evolves, BIM continues to prove itself as a leader in efficiency and innovation. Check out an article that remains timeless, our ability to work faster with BIM. https://lnkd.in/gwPVviGP

🌍💡 BIM – A Trillion-Dollar Opportunity According to a Deloitte 2024 study, the global construction market is worth US$11.39 trillion and continues to grow rapidly. 📈 At the same time, a Springer article shows that projects without BIM suffer from around 10% inefficiency. ➡️ That equals US$1 trillion in potential savings every year! BIM is the key to unlock this potential: ✔️ Better collaboration ✔️ Less rework & errors ✔️ More lifecycle transparency The future of construction is digital – and it’s BIM. 🚀 #BIM #Construction #DigitalTransformation #Efficiency #Engineering

There’s real momentum behind BIM in Ireland right now but training still seems to be the missing piece. According to Build Digital’s latest survey: • 80% of respondents are already on their digital journey. • Their top expected benefits include improved accuracy, efficiency, quality, and cost reduction. But when you compare what teams expected vs what they’ve actually achieved, the gap becomes clear: • 86% expected improved efficiency but only 53% have seen it. • 86% expected better accuracy but just 49% report it. That’s not a technology problem. That’s a training problem. Ireland’s phased BIM mandate is pushing the industry forward but if teams don’t have the skills to fully use these tools, the benefits stay out of reach. Formal education isn’t keeping up, and less than half of professionals report any form of structured digital training. The potential is there → collaboration, efficiency, better data → but the capability gap needs to close for the mandate to truly deliver. 👉 What do you think: is the challenge in training, leadership, or culture? #BIM #Ireland #Architecture #Training #AEC
