⚡️🌿 Chiang Mai Celebrates 10 Years of Living on Green Hydrogen! 🏡 In the heart of northern Thailand, the Phi Suea House in Chiang Mai marked its 10th anniversary this January — celebrating a decade as the world’s first residential home powered entirely by green hydrogen. ☀️ Built by visionary entrepreneur Sebastian-Justus Schmidt, the house runs fully off-grid, using solar panels to power an electrolyzer that splits water into hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen is safely stored and later converted back into clean electricity through fuel cells, producing nothing but pure water vapor. For ten years, the system has generated energy without fossil fuels, emissions, or grid connection — a living proof that a sustainable lifestyle is possible today. 🌍 To mark the milestone, the Hydrogen Summit 2025 was held on January 16–17 at Phi Suea House and the Marriott Chiang Mai. Diplomats, scientists, and clean-energy leaders from across Asia and Europe gathered to discuss the future of hydrogen, with key sessions on Thailand’s Hydrogen Knowledge Hub, Southeast Asia’s hydrogen roadmap, and corporate decarbonization. 💡 Interactive working groups explored real-world solutions — from green finance and regulation to AI in energy and the Just Energy Transition (JET). Guided by a “no-branding” spirit and Chatham House Rules, the event encouraged open, collaborative exchange. 🌱 As night fell, guests dined under hydrogen-powered lights — a poetic reminder that innovation can illuminate both homes and hope. Ten years on, Phi Suea House stands not just as a building, but as a symbol of clean energy’s living future.
