Great to see how Westra Materials (formerly n-ink) has been able to progress. Getting rid of PFAS, sk. "forever chemicals", is a clear strategic target for many industrial players and this has reflected in large interest towards Westra.

"German Cleantech Startup enaDyne Raises €7M to Transform CO₂ Emissions into Valuable Chemicals." Leipzig based cleantech innovator enaDyne has secured €7 million in seed funding to advance its groundbreaking technology that converts industrial CO₂ emissions into valuable chemicals like methanol and ethylene, while simultaneously eliminating PFAS, the so called “forever chemicals.” The round was co-led by Amadeus APEX Technology Fund (a joint venture between Amadeus Capital Partners and APEX Ventures) and Energy Capital Ventures®️, with additional backing from Antares Ventures, Possible Ventures, and angel investors Wolfram Drescher, Andreas Werner, and Sven Sieber. enaDyne’s non thermal plasma technology is redefining the chemistry of sustainability. By achieving conversion rates above 70%, the company is proving that carbon can be upcycled into high value feedstocks instead of being released into the atmosphere, a game changing approach that aligns with global efforts to decarbonize heavy industry and build a circular carbon economy. The newly raised funds will power the construction of enaDyne’s first pilot plant, expected by mid 2026, marking a critical milestone toward scalable, climate friendly chemical production. So far, ALTANA has come through the deep crisis in the industry almost unscathed – but how? Last week, I spoke with Annette Becker from the Börsen-Zeitung newspaper about our current situation. Long story short: ALTANA AG is standing tall in a difficult environment – and not by chance, but rather because our strategy is bearing fruits. So, what are we doing differently from the rest of the industry? ◾️ Customer proximity and local presence combined with true product innovations ◾️ Above-average investment in R&D – as the core of our business model ◾️ Sustainability as a driver of innovation: lower energy intensity, solutions for electrification, e-mobility and battery storage ◾️ Local-for-local and targeted acquisitions: We are always focused on strengthening our specialties. ❓ A common challenge for companies exploring remanufacturing is knowing where to begin and how to move from idea to practical implementation. How can remanufacturing become part of everyday business rather than remain at a conceptual level? "We see that many companies are interested in remanufacturing but remain uncertain about the first step. A roadmap can support the process by providing a shared picture of the way forward,” says Hanna Lindén, Researcher at RISE. Although already specialised in remanufacturing vehicle components, UBD Cleantech experienced the benefits of visualising their journey.
