Breaking New Ground in Helicopter Safety Did you know that 15% of helicopter accidents stem from tail rotor failures? (Source: EHEST 2023). These emergencies leave pilots fighting uncontrollable spins — until now. I'm thrilled to share that I’ve developed a provisional patent-pending solution: a retrofittable compressed-air system that provides critical seconds of yaw control during tail rotor failure. Key advantages: Pilot-initiated emergency activation (simple button press) Retrofit-ready for legacy helicopters 30-second thrust to enable safer autorotation Just this week, I submitted this concept to EASA’s Safety Promotion Network (SPN) and EHEST for collaboration. Grateful to contribute to a future where mechanical failures don’t have to mean catastrophe. To the aviation community: If you’re passionate about rotorcraft safety, let’s connect! Whether you’re an operator, engineer, or regulator, I’d love to explore how we can save lives together. P.S. Huge thanks to everyone who’s supported this sprint from beachside idea to EASA submission in 7 days! Onwards and upwards. “Emergency Yaw Control for Helicopters. Saving lives, one safe descent at a time.” #AviationSafety #Helicopter #Innovation #Aerospace
