🇸🇻 This Human Rights Awards Month, we recognize the courage of MOVIR working in El Salvador—a context marked by increasing authoritarianism and democratic erosion. ⚖️📉 Over the past three years, the country has operated under a state of exception characterized by mass incarceration, suspended constitutional protections, and attacks on judicial independence. New legislation threatens civil society organizations and independent media. Civic space continues to shrink. Understanding this context is essential to appreciating the work MOVIR does—and the risks they take.
