We are proud to partner with Traid to collect textile donations from Way of Life residents and staff at our buildings in London. We're delighted to share that since 2023, we've managed to divert 8,551kgs of unwanted clothes and shoes from landfill, reduced carbon emissions (CO2) by 72.7 tonnes and water savings of 13,681 m3. This is just one of the many ways we support and encourage our residents to make environmentally conscious decisions and live sustainably day-to-day. Happy Second Hand September! #SecondHandSeptember #ESG #Sustainability #BuildToRent

How about Decluttering and Donating Items this Saturday? A little autumn clean out? Spending a few hours decluttering your home can be both productive and sustainable. Clearing out wardrobes, garages or cupboards helps identify items you no longer need, which can then be donated, recycled or repaired. Clothes can go to charity, electronics to e-waste centres and furniture to second-hand shops. The environmental benefits are clear. Giving items a second life reduces landfill waste and cuts the demand for new goods to be manufactured. In the United States, nearly 20% of household waste consists of durable items like furniture and appliances that could be reused. There are personal benefits too. A tidy, organised space creates a calmer environment, and research shows that reducing clutter can lower stress and anxiety while boosting overall happiness. Decluttering is a win-win: it creates peace at home while supporting a more circular economy. #ecofriendly #GraphicDesign #SustainableWeekend #climateaction

For businesses, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword … it’s part of brand reputation. When we remove junk, we don’t just send it all to a landfill. We recycle, donate, and repurpose whenever possible. For property managers and contractors, that means two things: Less waste impact. A stronger story to tell tenants and clients. Responsible removal = responsible business. #sustainability #corporatesocialresponsibility #standupguys #recycling

New Recycling Rules = New Opportunities to Get it Right ♻️ The new workplace recycling regulations have been in effect for a few months now - charities and public-sector organisations in England must separate dry recyclables, food waste, and residual waste before collection. That’s where we come in. As well as skips and Roro's, we supply smaller FELs, RELs and bins, plus colour-coded, labelled, and compliant options to make segregation simple, efficient, and regulation-ready https://lnkd.in/eXs_aG2t #WasteManagement #WasteContainers #Skips

Recycling programs don’t just happen—they need the right partners, tools, and education to succeed. By donating recycling bins, training staff, and enhancing signage at venues like Bank of America Stadium and Rupp Arena, Coca-Cola Consolidated is helping partners significantly improve recycling rates. The results? A measurable jump in waste diversion. When stadiums and arenas lead the way, it sets the tone for sustainability on a massive scale. Esther C. 13 years of sustainability and counting! In the UK, GXO and Greene King have worked hard to #MakeAnImpact since 2012. Some of our latest numbers: 🚚 Driver performance management has improved fuel efficiency across Greene King's entire fleet — 10% better in 2024 alone! And between Eco Drive hydro-electric fridge tech and new barriers in refrigerated trailers, we've cut fuel consumption by 2-4% and energy usage by 50%. ♻️ Thanks to GXO's reverse logistics, we've eliminated 160,000 waste collection journeys per year. We recycled more than 4,000 tonnes of cardboard, 250 tonnes of metal, 55 tonnes of plastic, and over 9,000 tonnes of food waste in 2024. And through the annual Tub2Pub campaign, we're helping Greene King collect, recycle and repurpose confectionary tubs into furniture, while raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. 🌱 What about excess food? Over 90% of it goes to charities like The Bread and Butter Thing and The Felix Project! Last year, that meant about 240,000 meals for those in need. Learn more about all we're doing ➡️ bit.ly/42k62Sj

𝗔𝗪 𝗚𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗽 – 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝘆𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 & 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲 Over the summer, our recycling and reuse initiative has continued to grow, with surplus materials from our rail and construction projects finding new life in communities across the region. From bricks supporting training colleges, to timber and pallets being used in schools, gardens and men’s sheds, through to paint and surplus electricals helping charities, heritage sites and cultural events – it’s inspiring to see how these materials are being used. This initiative, now in its third year, is not just about reducing waste. It’s become a key part of our Social Value programme – supporting education, conservation, wellbeing and community development. We’ll be sharing some case studies soon to showcase the difference collaboration can make. In the meantime, if your organisation could benefit from surplus materials, or if you’d like to explore partnership opportunities, we’d love to hear from you. Together, we can build a more sustainable and socially valuable future. Today at the 2025 Charitable Reuse Australia Conference, our CEO Tony Chappel shared the exciting momentum building behind reuse and repair across NSW. We’re proud to be supporting the NSW government’s circular economy agenda through a growing range of initiatives. From regulating batteries and mandating Food Organics and Garden Organics collection and recycling to developing NSW’s first-ever Reuse and Repair Strategy. Other highlights include: - Supporting the development of the reuse impact calculator with Charitable Reuse Australia - Partnerships with councils through the Local Government Waste Solutions Fund - Leading with product lifecycle legislation, starting with battery regulations - Consulting on the Waste and Circular Infrastructure Plan and updating the Resource Recovery Framework The Measuring Reuse Activity and Impacts in NSW report estimated 107.7 million items were reused in a single year and $432 million was saved by NSW communities through selling and providing second hand items, compared with buying new. This isn’t just good for the environment but good for local jobs, social equity, and a smarter approach to waste. Thank you to all our partners, councils, charities, and community innovators driving change on the ground. Your work is laying the foundation for a more resilient, circular future. UK households annually put 35 textile items into residual waste – a problem hiding in plain sight that costs local authorities £88 million yearly in disposal fees. The Salvation Army Trading Company has introduced a postal donation service with InPost to address this issue. Households can now book free collections via www.satcol.org and use 11,000 automated lockers operating 24/7 across supermarkets and transport hubs. The service handles standard parcels up to 15kg, processing donations at SATCoL's Kettering facility that diverted 77,000 tonnes of textiles last year. 1mo👏 👏👏. I remember my Google Review of your company in 2020 and how it changed my life. Nothing has ever been the same ever since. You got from 1.3 star rating in 2020 to 4.4. You've clearly done a lot of soul searching as a company. Give my regards to dear William Waldorf Astor and the rest of the management.
