World Relief Western Washington’s Post

When Sahra and her children fled Afghanistan, they carried more than grief — they carried quiet determination. Her husband had been poisoned. Her village wasn’t safe. And she had never had the chance to go to school. “But I always wanted to go,” she said. In the U.S., safety came with new challenges. Sahra didn’t speak English. She couldn’t read or write. But slowly, she began to dream: “I want to learn English. When I learn more, I could go to school and get a job.” Swipe through to follow Sahra’s journey — from fear to resilience, and from silence to strength.
