#16: Have you heard of NotebookLM by Google?
Your personal AI knowledge assistant with features you won’t find anywhere.
NotebookLM – your AI-powered knowledge companion? 🤔 Ever thought about the fact that AI doesn’t just give you answers, it can actually organize your knowledge?
Most people seriously underestimate how much AI can transform their knowledge management. There’s a free tool that, in my opinion, hasn’t received nearly the attention it deserves: NotebookLM by Google. So what can it actually do?
💡 Here’s an example: 📄 You upload a whitepaper (via link), a YouTube video, and a company policy PDF on an HR topic. (Just make sure you’re only uploading content you’re allowed to share from a compliance standpoint.) 🤖 NotebookLM pulls out the key takeaways, answers your questions, and even suggests next steps or actions based on the material.
🧠 My personal use case: One feature blew me away when I tested NotebookLM. I uploaded one of my blog posts about age discrimination (screenshot on the left). On the right side, I received an audio summary. But not just any summary. It was a conversation between two AI podcast hosts, discussing my blog post in a way that felt surprisingly natural and engaging. And they did it in English, even though my original article was in German. 🙀
That means you could use this feature to create an HR podcast, where each episode is based on different source material. It’s a clever way to spread information about new HR policies or employee benefits, without needing a big production team.
At the same time, all that content becomes chat-friendly, so employees can ask targeted questions without having to read the full policy document.
Personally, I use NotebookLM to manage all the studies and reports about generative AI and its impact on the future of work. This way, I don’t need to memorize anything. I can just pull it up in the chat whenever I need it.
🔧 Mini-Challenge for the Week: Try NotebookLM in your daily workflow this week, whether you are taking notes, analyzing documents, or managing your knowledge base.
You might just be surprised how much easier your work becomes.
Thanks for being here. Here’s to a productive week ahead! 🚀

3moThe podcast feature truly blew me away the first time I tested it (even rare languages like Galego sound ultra realistic). Specifically two features are incredible: 1st: before generating the podcast you can use a prompt to predefine on which aspect the podcast hosts should focus on. 2nd: The interactive mode (still in BETA) when using English as the output language is incredible. While the hosts are talking you can 'raise your hand' which lets the host say something like 'we have a question from the audience - please shoot'. Once you address your question by speaking to the hosts they will instantly react to your question. Feels truly like magic :-)

3moThis is such a great breakdown — and you’re absolutely right: NotebookLM is massively underrated. The ability to converse with your own knowledge base feels like the future of note-taking finally arrived. I love your podcast use case — such a creative way to repurpose internal content and make it engaging. And the multilingual audio summaries...that’s next-level accessibility. Thanks for the inspiration, Dan! Already thinking of 3 use cases I want to test this week.
