20 Years at Sage – A Journey of Growth, Challenge, and Gratitude

Today marks 20 years since I started at Sage . Two decades! That’s a lot of peak seasons, a lot of change, and most importantly—a lot of incredible people who have shaped my journey.

I wouldn’t be here without the guidance, support, and encouragement of so many colleagues along the way. While I can’t name everyone, there are a few people I want to highlight who played a pivotal role in helping me grow:

  • Sonal Doshi, CPA & Rick Pope – For my first training in preparation for Peak Season 2005, setting the foundation for everything that followed.
  • Nikita Goodwine – My first manager, who helped me find my footing in Support.
  • Sandy Terilli & Lori Srail – For pushing me to sharpen my skills, first in Support and later in Sales Training.
  • Joan Rummel – For believing in me and giving me the opportunity to move from Support (where I was comfortable) into Sales Training (where I was DEFINITELY challenged!).
  • Kathy Martin – For teaching, mentoring, and supporting me in ways I’m still realizing today. I owe you soooo much.
  • Suzi Clune – For keeping me on track and smoothing out my rough edges when I was just getting started in Sales Training.
  • Deana Minier , Dione Rindahl , & 🔥Chris Smith – For helping me hone my craft through Sage ACT "back in the day."
  • Marc B. – My toughest critic early on as a Green Sales Trainer. The day I earned your trust and support was a major milestone in my career—you showed me that I could be successful.
  • Jennifer Warawa – For helping me find my place at Sage, trusting me when I was at a low point, and setting the bar high as a CAT lead, inspiring me to always be a strong CAT supporter.
  • Ed Kless - My "Yoda". This Padawan thanks you for all the knowledge and insights you gave me when I started working with the Sage for Accountants team the first time around.
  • Aristides (A.Z.) Zabala - For giving me an up-close example of how leaders lead. I still use to this day many of the points you taught me, both directly and indirectly.
  • Jennifer Baker – For all the work we've done together to improve morale and shape the culture at Sage.
  • Julie Elm – For years of support and for nudging me out of my comfort zone once again.

I also want to recognize the Sage Foundation , which has given all of us the opportunity to give back to our communities. Being among the first Sage Foundation Ambassadors remains one of the greatest privileges of my time here.

And to everyone I’ve worked with over the years—whether we spent years collaborating or just crossed paths for a moment—thank you. If I didn’t mention you by name, please know it’s not a slight. So many people have left their mark on my journey, and I’m grateful to each of you.

Twenty years is a long time, but with colleagues like these, it’s been a meaningful and rewarding ride. Here’s to the next chapter!
