Alpha Graphics Business Spotlight
As a lifelong entrepreneur and driven by a deep-rooted passion for community, Curtis Gropman forged a unique path in the commercial printing industry and to AlphaGraphics Marietta.. His journey, transitioning from a corporate career to Alpha Graphics and the heart of Marietta's business scene, showcases his remarkable adaptability and unwavering commitment to helping others succeed.
As far back as high school, Curtis demonstrated his inclination towards entrepreneurship and business acumen by buying and reselling concert tickets, complete with newspaper ads and a dedicated phone line in his parents' basement. This early venture not only showcased his potential but also taught him the value of taking risks and seizing opportunities. After 15 years in sales and customer management with Coca-Cola Enterprises, the Company was acquired leaving Curtis to reassess his career and future. At 42, with his entrepreneurial spirit reignited, Curtis courageously stepped out of his comfort zone and purchased an AlphaGraphics franchise. Today, he continues to approach his work with the same passion and drive that characterized his early days, proving that his entrepreneurial spirit is not just a phase but a defining characteristic.
In a world where many see the printing industry as outdated, Curtis saw opportunity. He understands that success lies in the integration of print and digital, not in choosing one over the other. "It's not print or digital," Curtis explains. "It's print and digital. The winners are the ones who figure out how to integrate the two." He recognizes the emotional impact of physical products, understanding that a tangible item can create a connection that digital alone cannot.
His true differentiator, however, is his commitment to customer service. Initially, Curtis envisioned AlphaGraphics as a marketing consultancy that simply printed materials. However, he soon discovered that building relationships through his printing services was a more effective strategy. This distinction, while subtle, was essential; it allowed Curtis to connect with clients on a deeper level, making his business an integral part of their success. His approach to clients is rooted in curiosity and a genuine interest in their well-being. "This business is about partnership," he says. "It's about understanding the client and their business and just being curious."
Curtis takes the time to ask his clients about their goals and challenges, positioning himself not just as a printer but as a trusted advisor who helps them grow their businesses. Whether it's a small local enterprise or a larger corporation, Curtis is dedicated to providing exceptional service and support, ensuring his clients' success. By offering a comprehensive range of services, Curtis has positioned AlphaGraphics as a leader in the local industry, defying the notion that print is obsolete.
As a longtime resident, Curtis felt a deep connection to Marietta and saw an opportunity to give back. Partnering with The Branding Project, he launched a $5,000 grant initiative for advertising services from AlphaGraphics. This project, which drew nearly 1,000 entries, awarded Glover Park Brewery a well-deserved branding makeover, demonstrating Curtis’s dedication to empowering local businesses.
Curtis Gropman's story is one of resilience, adaptability, and an unwavering commitment to his community. By transforming his business into more than just a print shop, he has become an indispensable part of Marietta's business landscape. His passion for helping others succeed, combined with his entrepreneurial spirit, has made him an invaluable asset to the Marietta community.
