Around the Qverse with Passionate Leader Rebecka Enström

For the March edition of the 𝐀𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐐𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐞 series, we had the pleasure of interviewing Rebecka Enström , CEO of Q company Qodes to learn more about them, her insights on emerging trends in IT consulting and the future development industry, and their vision for the future as she takes on the role of CEO.

With extensive experience in talent acquisition, HR, and leadership background across diverse industries, Rebecka is passionate about building strong teams, fostering a learning culture, and empowering the next generation of consultants.

Q: Hello, Rebecka! Can you tell us more about Qodes and what makes it unique in the IT consulting space?

A: Qodes specializes in software development, embedded systems, and test automation. We help companies navigate the evolving tech landscape with technical excellence and business-driven innovation with:

💚 Top-Tier Consultants – Highly skilled engineers who solve real business challenges.

💚 Tailored Solutions – Custom, scalable, and future-proof tech solutions.

💚 Knowledge Sharing – A strong culture of learning and collaboration.

💚 People-First Approach – Happy, motivated consultants drive the best results.

Q: What exciting projects are you currently working on?

A: An example of a customer project that we are working on is to be one of the first on the market to create a payment system for EV chargers. Our customer has partnered up with a global payment leader, which is really exciting and truly groundbreaking.

At the company level, I look for new areas to work with that are related to our niche. Today, we have 3 business areas in which I want to increase staffing to attract more customers and new superstars to Qodes.

💚 QoastbyQodes focuses on full-stack/backend developers to deliver complete projects for our customers and allow them to take entire projects home.

💚 MeQbyQodes is more for mechanical designers and design engineers.

💚 Qoncept is an innovation hub; you can test and develop new ideas that can be developed into sustainable solutions.

Q: What current trends and emerging technologies do you think will significantly impact tomorrow's IT consultants and the future development industry?

A: I believe in seeing what Gen Y and Gen Z demand from us as employers. Gen Y is value-driven and seeks balance and personal development. Gen Z is practical, fast-moving, and digital and values authenticity and financial security. These are the consultants of the future, and we need to learn more about what they need from us as employers.

As employers, we need to develop our communication skills to meet the new generation and keep up with technical working methods that are integrated into organizations, such as AI, visual formats, and more interactivity.

For IT consultants, staying ahead means continuous learning, adaptability, and strong business acumen to bridge technology with strategic value. The most successful consultants will not only master emerging technologies but also help clients navigate their practical implementation and business impact.

Q: You also host the Swedish podcast "En pod i podden" with your colleague Alarik Hammar. For those who may not be familiar, can you tell us what the podcast is about, who it's for, and what you hope listeners take away from it?

A: Thanks for mentioning the podcast! I love using it as a marketing tool to share insights and reflections. With guests from both inside and outside IT, we focus on quality sound and the right atmosphere, expertly handled by our editor, Martin Nick Alexandersson.

The podcast is for everyone. Some topics require prior knowledge, but it serves as a library where listeners can choose what to explore. Guests range from embedded developers to Magnus Wrahme, the CEO of World of Volvo, and, of course, our very own Håkan Paulsson, one of the Qgroup founders.

We hope listeners walk away with fresh insights, a deeper understanding of the topics we discuss, and a new perspective they hadn't considered before.

Q: After serving as Deputy CEO at Qodes for over four years, you are now stepping into the CEO role. What does this transition mean to you, and what excites you most about becoming CEO?

A: Becoming a CEO has been a big goal of mine since I was younger. I've had a bit of a bumpy road to the top. When my parents passed away when I was 17-18, I needed to learn to be strong and have the will to push forward on my own. If I wanted something, I had to solve it myself. Everyone needs someone who believes in them; I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all the strong women I've had around me and who have believed in me and Alarik and Qgroup for giving me this chance to reach my goals.

What excites me most about becoming CEO is being able to influence and continue to create something that enables change in people. For me, it's being able to hire good people and offer them the right assignments.

Q: What leadership lessons have shaped your career, and how will you carry them into your new role?

A: Throughout my career, several key leadership lessons have shaped my approach to leading teams and driving success.

One of the most important lessons I learned from my former mentor and chef, Jakob Roos, is not to make hasty decisions, decisions made solely on emotion, and dare not to let emotion take over because then other perspectives can come in that make the decision more well thought out, also, that I must be able to stand by my choices. I am my own brand. Communication is something you can continuously improve on or learn more about. Clear Communication Builds Strong Teams – Transparency and effective communication create alignment and trust within an organization. Whether setting expectations, providing feedback, or navigating challenges, I believe in being clear, consistent, and approachable.

I will apply these lessons in my new role by building high-performing teams, driving innovation, and ensuring that employees and clients thrive in a rapidly changing landscape.

Q: What advice would you give to professionals looking to grow into leadership roles like yours?

A: Train yourself to think several steps ahead of time in your process while still being present in the here and now. Strong leadership requires a balance between strategic foresight and day-to-day execution. Anticipate future challenges, identify opportunities early, and align your team toward long-term goals—while remaining adaptable and engaged in the present. Developing this skill will help you make proactive, informed decisions and lead with confidence.

Thank you, Rebecka, for telling us more about yourself and Qodes! 🌟🚀
