The University of Jordan Wins the Distinguished Public University Award “King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency”


The University of Jordan won the prestigious King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency.

The award was presented by His Majesty King Abdullah II at a ceremony at the Royal Cultural Palace, in the presence of Crown Prince Al Hussein and Prince Faisal. This accomplishment, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of King Abdullah II’s reign, highlights the university’s dedication to excellence in public service and higher education.

Dr. Obeidat emphasized the university’s pioneering role since its founding in 1962, noting that the award reflects the collective efforts of the leadership, faculty, staff, and students to enhance performance and foster innovation. This recognition reaffirms the University of Jordan’s commitment to quality, transparency, and its leading position in the Arab world’s educational landscape.

The Jordanian National Commission for Women (JNCW), under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Basma bint Talal, Chairperson of the Commission, launched a study on economic violence against women in Jordan on Tuesday at the University of Jordan (UJ).

The University of Jordan (UJ) announced today that it has achieved 9th place in the Arab world and first locally in the QS Arab Region 2025 Ranking, reaffirming the university's position as one of the most prominent educational institutions in the Arab world.

UJ has made notable progress in its overall ranking score this year, rising by four points compared to last year, demonstrating its commitment to ongoing development.

Regarding employability reputation, UJ achieved a significant position, ranking 3rd in the Arab world, advancing by two positions from last year, placing the university among the top 1% of Arab universities in this criterion.

UJ President, Prof. Nathir Obeidat, stated that ranking among the top 10 Arab universities highlights its position as a leading educational institution in the region, committed to delivering high-quality education and impactful scientific research.
