Best Workspace Design? Well, there’s more to that.

So, last Friday… we won an award. And not just any award - we were recognised for the Best Workspace Design by the Employee Happiness Awards.

This one felt different. Why? Because we didn’t hire an interior design agency. This was a project for our people, and we thought it was only befitting to have it done by our very own people. People that know the brand, live the brand, breathe the brand.

So our own team rolled up their sleeves and did it all, every corner, colour, couch and cable. 

Of course, winning feels great. But honestly? We felt the shift long before the trophy.

People have always loved our office - but ever since the refurbishment, there’s been a fresh buzz. You feel it in the energy, the chats, the way people show up.

We spend a huge chunk of our lives at work, so we wanted a space that feels good. A place where you can think big, move fast, laugh loudly, or just take a breather when you need it.

Turns out, when you get the space right, everything else gets better too.

So what’s actually different?

Quite a bit:

• More meeting rooms
• A huddle space for those last-minute brainstorms
• Private phone booths for calls or focus time
• Height-adjustable desks because yes, gotta stay active
• Better tech across all rooms
• A cool boardroom for bigger conversations
• Lockers for everyone (because cluttered desks = cluttered minds )

Every detail was intentional, from the layout to the lighting. 

It had to feel like Virgin.

We’re not your typical corporate crew - so we didn’t build a typical corporate office.

The space had to reflect who we are: bold, red, and fun.

You’ll find Branson quotes on the walls to keep us thinking big. Real plants (not the plastic kind) bring the place to life. Our own graphic design shows up across walls, glass, and corners. The signature Virgin red? It’s everywhere… couches, walls, mugs, water bottles…

And it’s not just an office. It doubles as our content studio. We shoot campaigns and create social content right here at HQ. Basically, it’s the most on-brand film set in town.

The vibe? Unmistakably Virgin Mobile.

And that’s exactly how we like it.

Brilliant minds need brilliant breaks

So we did exactly that.

• We created corners for coffee and catchups.
• A PlayStation 5 and a pool table (yes, our tournaments get very competitive).
• A vinyl player for when your mind needs a breather.
• And a mini library filled with self-growth books, handpicked by the team.

It’s the little things like these that build real culture. The kind that brings people together, keeps us curious, and makes work feel a little more like home.

Sustainability Matters

We used recycled materials wherever we could. We had to buy some furniture, but we also gave the old furniture a second chance. And it was done so creatively, that it looks better than even before!

So, why did we do it?

Not for an award. Not for show.

We did it because people deserve to feel good at work.

And when they do, they build better ideas, better connections and yes, better mobile experiences for our customers too.
